Can you ping someone in PM, or does it not work?

I'm not very sure. I think so! But only if they have ping activated.

Why do we use the term 'finals'? Britain hardly uses the word finals in schools - we only tend to use the word finals in universities and Hogwarts isn't really a University. Coursework, Exams and Assessments are words we use more commonly.

Thank you for pointing that out! Try talking to Bond about it, he's in charge of OOC and Hogwarts so it'd be better to tell him so he can start changing it. ~Red

How do I start a roleplay with someone? (Aside from asking someone on chat)

You can message them by leaving them an owl, or join in on an RP being done in General RP, without any specific header. ~Red

http://www.wikia.com/Wiki_Creation_Policy "Text on Wikia sites is available under a free content license, meaning the information you put on the wiki can be copied and reused by anyone." I was looking at the wikia policies and I saw that?

But on the policy of the wiki itself, it says that the SquareFeed code is not to be used by anyone outside of the wiki, and we should respect their administration in following that. ~Red

To the people who asked questions about specific users–

I know you want your questions answered, but we try not to show questions about specific users here. If you have a problem with a user, feel free to find a member of the administration team on chat and talk about it with them. :) ~Red

What is the actual character limit? I thought it was like eight or something. But a lot of people (I don't want to point fingers or anything, but the ones that everyone likes because they've been around a lot time) have a lot more than that! If I'm not a newbie can I have more now?

The character limit is 10. I'm guilty of going over the limit, but the only time we really, /really/ do enforce the ten character rule is when a user really can't handle more than ten. I think that around ten to thirteen is still somewhat acceptable, but users should really try to steer clear of making more than fifteen. If you've stayed here more than one month, you can make as many as you want. I advise not to make a lot one after the other though, it'd be better if you make them at a gradual pace so you have the chance to RP them and not feel the need to make another one. ~Red

No offense, but is anyone actually answering these? I asked a question ages ago and you never answered.

I'm not the one who's officially in charge of this ask.fm, but I decided to log in to this account a while ago and found all these questions. I'm sorry if you felt like no one was answering these, but it's better late than never, right? If you've asked a question and it's taking a while, leave a question telling me to check this account on my regular ask (vivalavieboheme), so I can answer it. Thanks! ~Red

If we put the preserve template on our character page, does that mean the page is preserved even if we become inactive?

Yes. ~Red

Why cant we have student groups like do they on EESM? :D

You can! Go ahead! Student groups are fun, and they don't necessarily have to be student clubs. If you want your character to have a group of friends, then go ahead and find users with characters with the same interest, and start RPing them together. :)) ~Red

Who's Echostar? Why was everyone really excited when she posted on her userpage? And is she truly not coming back?

ECHOOOOOO!
Anyway, Echo was a user from back before. She had tons of amazing characters, and even more amazing RPs because she's such an amazing writer! She was a crat, which is why she's considered wiki-mom by a lot of people, because she helped out a lot of the older users when they were starting out, me included. She disappeared a while back, so hearing from her was really something to be excited about. She said she's staying for the summer, but aside from that, I'm not sure. ~Red

I feel like it's not fair that Head of Ravenclaw can disappear for so long, then come back and ask like he's still an admin. Is that really allowed?

Raven's amazing with code. We give him admin permissions so he can help make the wiki a better place, by doing things with the bot, doing the AutoRefresh, etc. I don't know what you mean like "ask like he's still an admin". If you meant "act", I think it's fine if regular users act like admins, by enforcing rules and such, but if they act like they're better than other people it's a no-no. ~Red

Can teachers and students RP out of class like other students? Or could that start favoritism and stuff?

Teachers and students /can/ RP outside of class, if the users want to. It doesn't necessarily need to start favoritism. ~Red

Sorry, but what happened to the Square Feed things again? Are they coming back? Or...not? I got confused at it all and everyone has stopped talking about them :/

It turns out the code was taken from another wiki, despite it saying in that wiki's policy that any variation of the code is not to be allowed on any other site. As a result, we took it down, as it was the fair thing to do. It'll come back if someone comes up with a different code. ~Red

When something says 'General RP' and not two character's specific names, like in the common rooms, can anyone join without having to ask? Just wanted to check.

Anyone can join, but ask the users if you want to make sure. ~Red

Can students smoke at Hogwarts? I didn't think they could, but I've seen it done so I was confused.

If they're caught, I'm guessing they'll get in trouble. ~Red

Are you actually allowed to put different models as 'used' that you aren't actually using yet? I don't know how to explain it, but basically like on the taken model list Niele is on twice, one of them being for an older model. Shouldn't it be reserved if it's not being used? Isn't it kind of cheatin

It should be reserved? ~Red
