That is one of the dumbest things I've read really. My personal belief is that Mahou Sensou was an incredibly uninspired project to see if the publisher could make a quick buck out of it. Pretty much every aspect of it screamed that everyone working on it didn't care much about it. The super bland voice acting from Miyano, the poor animation, etc...

While I do agree that the show is indeed pretty bad and there is no point in watching it. This review was pretty damn bad specially once he started going into this own assumptions on budget.

I don't need her to start a solo career to legitimize me trying to enable people into Naobou-ism. Also if this does happen, I would do my part and buy one copy. Unless of course there are special conditions to it like lottery into a concert or something.

No at the time of Kanon, Naobou was just a seiyuu that voiced an idol and held 2 concerts on Kanon's name. All music and performances she did was under the kaminomi label not her own.

What does the term "idol seiyuu" mean to you?
It's a tricky concept imo. To fit the term you need to be a seiyuu which also gets heavy amounts of exposure in the form of music releases. In other words if you don't have a single/duo/unit career to compliment your seiyuu job then you cannot fit the description.
Also there is a difference in being an idol seiyuu and being the seiyuu of an idol character.
