Hello i have a question i am a us citizen married to a mexico native i have 4 kids only one is his i am on cash assistant and food stamps how will that sffect his status once i start his paper work

Hello, if the cash assistance and food stamps are for your children the only way this should affect him during his legal process is that he will need a co-sponsor. This means that you will need someone who fulfils the income guidelines to petition for him during the affidavit of support process. You may find the updated guidelines here: http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf.

Dear Attorney. My wife filed an I-130 petition for me in 2007 after we got married. It was approved. We had a daughter who was born here. My wife passed away almost 3 years ago. I came to the united states illegally. Can I still get my residency?

There is a visa available that you might be eligible for as a widower of a US Citizen. However, this process is discretionary and there is a lot more information that I would need regarding your personal background to determine your eligibility.
You can call our office to schedule a consultation where we can sit down and take a look at the details of your case and determine your eligibility for this and any other option you may have. We are open Monday- Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm (916) 442- 5900

Dear attorney I been living in this country 25 years I have 3 kids 16, 14, 12 all American citizen My brother is an American citizen there's any chance to fix my case I'm indocumented

With the information you provided it seems as though you might be eligible for the new DAPA program as long as you fit all of the other qualifications. However, Because all of the finalized applications, instructions, and application dates have not been released I urge you to collect important documentation that verify your identity , your relation to your children, and your presence in the United States in the mean time. Most importantly, to avoid scams only visit an accredited attorney or social service for assistance with your case. Our office will be assisting with these types of cases and if you have questions you may contact us for further assessment of your eligibility and options.

dear attorney my name Karolina I m a citizen at usa my sister come visit and stay with me because I had health problem . I apply to immigration office to able to stay here .My question how long take to get her green card and I have to ask a Immigration to stay more here !Thank you

Hello Karolina! According to the most recent Visa Bulletin they are currently working on Visas submitted in March of 1997.What this means is that If you were to file for your sister today, because the petition falls under the fourth preference level, there would be an estimated 18+ year wait during which she could not remain in the United States. However if she wanted to extend her visitors visa we could help you with that process. Here is a link to the Visa Bulletin that lists all of the dates and is updated monthly: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/law-and-policy/bulletin/2015/visa-bulletin-for-january-2015.html#

This is not specifically about immigration, but my father heard this today and was wondering if there is any truth behind it. When parents get wic, free reduced lunch for their children, or other assistance programs. The children later when they work get more taxes taken away from their pay checks.

Hello! Unfortunately because this is not immigration specific we cannot provide as certain an answer as we would like. It would be best addressed by your local social service provider. However if you ever have any immigration related questions feel free to direct them our way and we will answer them to the best of our ability.
