That "gross" djent riff is groovier than anything on P33.

I'm sorry that your ears are broken. I don't think there is much that can be done about that unfortunately, but I do hope you get better!

The Wikipedia page for PIII lists a violinist, and even an orchestra. Why wasn't there any footage/mention of this in the documentary? Seems like a very interesting part of the recording process!

The live orchestral instruments were actually done at the very last minute, and organized/tracked remotely by Randy Slaugh. I sent him all the MIDI I had programmed, and he converted it into sheet music and found players that could play the material, but they only had enough time to do certain songs/sections. I wasn't even there for those sessions, and when we did the documentary, the plan had been just to use the MIDI. In the end we did a combination of my programming and live instruments.

Do you think periphery would ever release a cover album or ep ?

Every album of ours is a Meshuggah cover album. Waiting for this new one to drop so we can start "writing" albums again.

What do you think of the new Devin Townsend release? And how do you feel about Nolly working on such a terrific record?

I think Nolly and Dev did such an amazing job together, I'm so proud of Nolly for killing it, and of Dev for the amazing music!

Did the "djent" riff Mrak plays in the first piii studio ^d8 not make the cut? Or are you guys being sneaky and not telling us something?

It was a joke riff making fun of Djent. It was not a serious riff for the album. Gross.

Do you use/see an advantage to owning both cablab standalone and plugin? Or do you just use the plugin mostly?

I would just get the plugin, that's the only one I use!

Do you prefer vinyl for limited color presses or higher quality press?

I honestly haven't found there to be a difference in sound quality, at least to my ears.
The only pressings I avoid are picture discs, as those tend to be noisy and more prone to skipping.
