MS is launching Xbox in Japan again, what do you think about it and the market? As a Japanese gamer, "Will ID@Xbox devs release their games here??" is what I'm worring about. How about Roundabout?

It's definitely easier to release in Japan now compared to 10 years ago. One of my prized game dev possessions is a Japanese copy of Army Men RTS, ported by Capcom! I'd love to get a Gunstringer Japan copy at some point too.
It's up to each individual dev to choose which languages they support. I really want to try and do EFIGS + Japanese + Russian for Roundabout, but the timing on a lot of that will depend on how quick CERO/etc's turnaround is and how much localization houses want to charge to translate our text. I will be crossing all of my limbs that it works out!

When is the no goblin E3 press conference and what venue are you holding it in?

On my couch for the entirety of Monday. There will be waffles.
(So far, I've managed to skip the need to go to E3 this year. As someone who's held down a booth nearly single handedly for the last two I went to, you have no idea how happy this makes me.)

If I already own Roundabout on PC, and I buy it on PS4, will I be more attractive?

Doug Snyder
I am more attractive on PS4 because the video is higher bitrate and 1080p. Does that help?

Did Shrek lie?

I mentioned "Shrekstra-Life 2017" to Panzer as a joke and almost ended up in hospital.

Why is roundabout split up into three distinct zones?

Half narrative pacing, half easier to optimize/dev than one full open world.
Right up until the last few weeks there were season subtitles in front of each area too - Spring for Suburbs, Summer for City, and Winter for Mountains. Originally we were going to have four, but we merged our "miami"-esque story beats and world into the left half of City.
We originally wanted to gate entry to each world with a powerup too (reverser for city, water for miami, jump for mountains), but that ended up falling by the wayside when the Ronaldo Race beat came together. We still have Jump to City in there, kinda, sorta!
(In my backlog of tasks never completed for Roundabout, there was a task to have freeroam be psuedo-open by having a repeating level connecting each map - think the Mario 64 staircase or Mass Effect's elevators - but the effort to get it in wasn't worth what we'd have to cut in other places to make time for it.)

How many referencing to "EAT THE ONION" will be in NoGoblinGame2?

The Food That Shall Not Be Named is a 2015 thing. Who knows what terrible references to challenges we'll have weaponised by the time we ship Game 2!?

Any plans for DLC in Roundabout?

Nope! Once we're done with PS4 and Vita, it's 100% into Game 2 production.
