Would you rather live in the mountains or on the beach?
I love both. I currently live by the beach. But I love getting away for a few days at a time and clear my head in the local mountains. My favorite mountainous community is Big Bear Ca. I've been to Mammoth Mountain, but that's just to commercialized. I like the rustic appeal that Big Bear has. But once I've had my fill on things on the mountain experience, I am happy to come back home to the beach.
What are your favourite shops?
Coffee shops! I will be the first to admit that I am addicted to caffeine. So I need to make sure there's a Starbucks or Coffee Bean/Tea Leaf near me at all times. I can't go without it or else I get headaches.
I discovered a local coffee shop while out on a business meeting where they make coffee art. The place is in Buena Park, Ca. They made some pretty great designs with my cafe latte. Not only was it great tasting, but it was also pretty. I even ordered something called Mochi Waffles...wow, it's a waffle made with a mochi batter.
Hot tea or ice tea?
I like both. But I had something called "sweet tea" while I was in Raleigh North Carolina. Wow! This is some great tea! Apparently when they make it, they throw in a cup of sugar with the boiling water, let it dissolve and then throw in the tea bags, cool for a few hours and serve.
I simply love sweet tea, but when I try to make it at home, it just doesn't taste like how it did in Raleigh. I need to go back soon just for the tea! So good!
What's the most valuable thing you've held in your hands?
Babies are valuable. The hand of a loved one is priceless. But if you're asking for material things that I've held that are considered valuable, well it's probably the keys to my yacht. Oh the keys to my Maserati and the keys to my home.
Do you believe in happy ending?
I don't necessarily believe in happy endings, but I do believe that you can have a happy life with some good decisions. I think the expectation people have of a fairy tale life is certainly unfair and destined for doom.
Here's the thing, life doesn't really have a happy ending because even if you get your prince or princess, life still goes on. What are you going to do after the fairy tale wedding? What are you going to do when you have an argument? How will you react to your bills being late or your car getting stolen. But in the midst of all those things going on, you can still have a happy outlook on life.
Are you afraid of people?
No way, I love people! In fact, being around large crowds of people energize me! I draw my energy from the crowd. It's like an electric feeling. That's why I love going to concerts, sporting events or anywhere I know where there will be a ton of people. I'm a very social person so I need to be with others to thrive.
I think If I were stranded on a deserted island all by myself, I'd probably go crazy, or I'd befriend the local wild life and make them my roommates, haha. But yes, I do love being around people.
How old were you when you learned how to ride a bike?
I believe I was about 4 years old. I learned on my cousin's bike. I recall having such a problem with the idea that my cousin's bike was a girl's bike. To top that off, it had flowers on it and tassels on the handle bars. However, my uncle told me that if I kept complaining about the girly bike that he wouldn't teach me. After I calmed down, he proceeded to teach me.
Once I learned, I kept using the girly bike because I felt so comfortable on it. I used it so much that my cousin let me keep it since she got a new bicycle. I was ecstatic to say the least! Kids in the neighborhood would tease me about the bike, but I didn't care.
Is humanity progressing or deteriorating?
It's easy to say that its deteriorating depending on what you're looking at. However, there are many instances where you see people hard at work in making a difference. Whether they are providing free meals to the homeless or fixing bicycles for the less fortunate, there are great examples all over of people caring enough to make a difference in someone's life.
One of the things I love to see is how an uncle, grand father or even another male role figure takes a young man under their wing and accept him as their own. Passing down lessons of life's nuances and great fatherly advice. That in itself creates such an impact that will last through generations.
What was your first mobile phone?
I remember having the Nokia 232 Type Tha‑41 Bth‑8sm. Back then you had to pull up the antenna to make sure you had a signal. Haha, those were the good old days. Since then, I've had a collection of mobile phones that I could easily fill a large plastic bin with. It seems like phones now are not made as robust as phones from yesteryears. Newer phones seem to break every year or two. My old Nokia is still working!
What's your favorite food to eat?
My favorite food is pizza. But that doesn't mean I don't LOVE sushi, Indian and Mexican foods. I basically love foods with a ton of flavor. I'm not a big fan of HEAT or in other words, spicy foods. With Indian food, I love how the Chicken Tiki Masala tastes as well as the Palak Paneer. The flavors are so complex that it amazes me how they came up with the ideas on how to prepare these foods. I'm definitely a foodie!
What is the best song of all time?
One of my favorite songs come from the 90's hip hop group Naughty By Nature. They've got two songs that I think are the BEST of all time. OPP and Feel Me Flow are two songs that I could just get lost in. Something about these songs that gets me in a trance where I'm swaying, bobbing my head and takes me back to my teenage years.
Post a picture of somebody or something you find inspiring!
Water inspires me. I find that if I stop at the beach before I do anything, I get energized and invigorated!
Are you outgoing or shy?
I'm both. Well not really. I just know when to keep quiet and let people talk. Sometimes people love themselves so much that they can go on and on for 2 hours on why they do the things they do and etc. I've learned a while ago that if you want to get people to like you, you keep asking them questions about themselves. This helps break down walls and you end up earning their trust. Trust is HUGE in the business world. When I need to do a presentation, I am very outgoing. People think that Hammad Akbar is an extrovert, but in reality I know how to control both intro/extrovert qualities to make it work for my benefit. Make sense right? Hammad Akbar
What is something you find hard to stop once you have started?
Does Candy Crush count? But seriously, I'm one of those that likes to make sure a job is done. It doesn't matter if it's a project in the office or if it's me wanting to get in shape. Basically I want to do everything I can to achieve my goals. It's once I achieve my goals is when I stop.
But I don't just stop there. I actually set new, higher level goals for the next round. For example, if I want to make sure I get out of debt, I set a goal on the time frame that I want to accomplish this in. Once I exceeded the goal, I then turn my attention to building wealth. This means I do what ever it takes to increase my net-worth.
After this goal is complete, what's next? Well do I want to buy a new house, perhaps a yacht? How about a new sports car. All those are goal related and it's something I love to do. My favorite part is to check off my list, it's a very satisfying feeling to hit each milestone.
What do you think of makeup?
Makeup is great. For some it's a saving grace because they may have some imperfections on their skin that they don't want the whole world to see. However, there are others who need to learn how to use it. There's an old saying "a little dab will do ya." Same goes for makeup, you don't need much to look great.
