What if you can't get the salary you demand or request for 3,5k per month and to start form small amount like 1,200 to 1,600? And how will you deal with it ?...

I think firstly one has to be realistic --is what you have to offer to the company (based on aptitude and credentials) a reasonable match with your requested salary? If no, you should probably revise your expectations. If yes, perhaps you could explain why and reach some sort of compromise with your potential employer. If you are really confident of what you have to offer and no compromise can be reached, perhaps you should look for another company. Never settle for less than you deserve (but only if you deserve it) (:

did you get any bursaries/scholarships for your summer school? :)

I don't think NUS offers a lot of bursaries for summer school but I did get the NASA one for my exchange programme to UC Berkeley, California (:

Do you like long hair or short hair better on others?

Generally I think girls look better with long hair and guys with short, but that's a personal preference --it really depends on the individual too!

How fast do you fall in love?

I think it takes years haha. To me, a liking for someone/something is not the same as love, which can only come over time and sacrifice.

Hello i am currently taking sc2216 right now and i am actually an engin student taking it as UEM. With my fyp and other engin modules, i do not have time to read up all the readings? How did you study for SC2216?

Hi, I understand... you can pick one key reading per week that the prof highlights (bc that's probably the most important one) and then get the key concepts, which you should then relate back to that week's topic (this is a good guide for your essays too). Sociology is very much based on concepts/theories so as long as you get those, it shouldn't be too much of a problem! Good luck (:

Do your parents tutor you personally or find you tutors? And do you take any national exams then? How did you apply to NUS? Sorry for the questions, find this so cool :)

Haha no worries! My mom taught me herself. For admission to NUS I wrote a personal statement and submitted documents from my home-school program, but i do not have any standardised certs like A levels/poly diploma (:

heyyy yk previously when u said u hadn't done too well for an assignment how did u do for that mod in the end? i had a B- for a 30% assignment n im thinking of giving up on this mod sigh sad sad

I had a B- for a 25% assignment previously but managed to get B+ in the end! You can't exercise s/u for a major module anyway, so I would say just keep doing your best. Afterall, B- to B+ is still a huge difference and could really prevent a huge detriment to your CAP. You can do it (:

hi janice, are you doing honours? Are you writing a thesis and what mods are you thinking of taking next sem?

Yes I am definitely thinking of doing an honours thesis but unfortunately I don't have a concrete research thesis yet ):

Hey Janice :) are you on exchange?? You can go in year 4?

Hi, yes I am (: I'm finishing year 3 this semester, going back to NUS in AY 2017-18 to finish up year 4. Hope that helps!

hey janice, do you mind continuing a module review of your current mods from where you left off in your last post please?

Hi! Sure, I could do that but there isn't that much to update because I'm on exchange this sem and won't be taking any NUS modules

just one last qn can u exercise s/u on summer sch mods? :))))))

Hey yes you can! Sorry this is a little late!

Hey you were homeschooled before NUS? Can I ask why, and how do you get tutors all that!! It would be so cool to homeschool future kids haha but is that allowed in sg?

Yes I was, because my parents travelled often when I was little (partially also cause my parents don't really agree with the education system here) . It was a lot of self-studying, but parents have to take a test before they are permitted to homeschool their kids (:

Hi, were you surprised you made it to uni even though you were home schooled?

Yes I was! I tell everyone and firmly believe it's really God's miracle (: I'm very thankful to be here!

did u go for summer sch with friends or alone?

Alone! But I made so many amazing friends over summer school ,would highly recommend it esp if you wanna catch up on mods/graduate early (:

Hi there, just curious, why were you home schooled? Who taught you when you were home schooled? That means do you have PSLE cert, O level cert, A level/diploma cert? :) Just curious cuz i'm considering home schooling my child. Thanks!

Hi there, nope I don't have O/A level certificates, actually not even PSLE haha. I took a private cert called ICCE (you can google it). I was homeschooled because my parents travelled a lot when I was little (:

oh man i see! how many MCs did u skip? also dyk if we can do just one mod for special sem

Yup we can do one mod! I did 8MCs (two mods) over summer school (:

hey janice, which countries have you lived in moving up and could you share your experiences? which country would be nice to travel to loll!

I haven't really lived in that many places, mostly in Asia! Auckland --> Hongkong --> Xiamen --> Beijing --> Singapore haha I would saw New Zealand is really beautiful if you're into hiking/photography/nature (:

Hi Janice <3 I just found out about you yesterday and I just wanted to say that I love the way you write. And your words are very pretty. and you're very pretty too. I'm a Singaporean who goes to UCLA HAHAHA a pity that you'll be in norcal while I'm in socal ahhahaa. XOXO, fangirl :>

Hi! It's great to hear from you haha i'm really excited about cal --drop me some notes on where I should visit please :P

If you for Job what salary will you expected them to give you? and what is the range will you request for if you familiar with the that you look into it...

If I work in the public sector, I would expect a minimum salary of $3,500 because that is pretty standard for first class honors graduates (:

ohh why r u doing special term?

Because I'm behind on MCs as I fell sick and had to skip finals in year one ):

do you think its worth it to do a double major whr both majs are b. soc science

Hi sorry for the late reply! I don't think it's that valuable with regards to employment opportunities (given advice from professors and seniors) , but I would do it if I'm extremely interested in both subjects (:

Hie! Do u noe if it's possible to wear coloured contact lenses without soaking them in solution? :3 Thanks!

No it's no possible! it's really bad for your eyes please don't do that haha

Hi Janice! do you have friends that are on the dean's list at fass (or have u been on it) and if so, do u know what the cap cut off roughly is? i know its hard to say! but just frm past selections

Yeah I have! The sem I was on it I had like a 4.9. I think as long as you have a cap above 4.5 it's possible to get placed on the Dean's List but it's dependent on the percentage so if everyone does really well then it might even be from 4.7-4.8 onwards (:
