just saw your as i am solo cover again and realised that your alternate picking was already cleaner than petrucci's years ago lol that cover is at least as clean as chris feener's cover, since you post some videos on your facebook of your godlike playing could you play the as i am solo again for us?

Thanks!! I'm nowhere near Petrucci's level of accuracy, but I'd definitely be down to give that solo another shot.

Did you ever played a sterling jp70?

The Sterling JP models are really nice guitars for the price. Swap out the pickups, and you'd have a great guitar.

You said you don't know much theory, so when you write a song do you know in what key you are or you just write what sounds good? And how do you figure out on how much BPM your ideas sounds the best?

I just go by what I think sounds good. I'm not using any kind of theory when writing. I'll improvise things until I come up with a riff or lick that I like, and build off of that. As far as tempo goes, the only thing you can go off of is feel.

How often do you practice to a backing track? Like when learning a song, do you practice "solo", or play While listening to the original track

I'll jam by myself until I feel a riff or solo is clean enough, then I'll play along to the actual song and analyze the phrasing.

Do you have any tips in how to improve the riffing composition skills? I always end up doing the same old things and it's really frustrating.

Whenever I feel like my writing is starting to get stale, I listen to new music for inspiration. Try learning something new and a bit different from what you normally play, then take those techniques and new writing style and implement them into your own music.

Have you ever measured your progress in guitar playing technique, how do you Think is the best Way to do this?

The best way to track your progress is to record clips or videos of your playing. Since I have a decent amount of YouTube videos and clips from all the way back to 2004, I can easily track my progress from then up until now.

Which Final Fantasy soundtrack did you enjoy most?

I really like the soundtracks from VII and VIII. VII will always be special to me though because that was my introduction to RPGs and the Final Fantasy series.

You are one of the cleanest players i have heard, and it is incredible how good you were already in your earliest videos where you had only been Playing for a Couple of years, what do you Think has made your practice so effective?

Thank you! I'm constantly pushing my playing, and trying to improve. It's always good to have a goal, and push yourself to achieve it.
