Are you making a new Earth replica? If not do you have any plans of making one in the future?

Answered a similar question earlier.

Can you make the earth map survival version but without the water temples? I wanted to start some colony on greenland but there were huge water temples that cut into the land and made it look strange.

Yes. It can be done.

Are you working on a new version of the Earth map? Or do you have any plans to make another one?

Working on something, progress is halted for now though. I will probably first ask for help in organizing distribution of the current version before working on/publishing a new one.
Distribution is the bigger challenge concerning this project than making a new one I think.

I am wondering if in version 2.0 of earth if added trees from tree repository and if vegetation is realistic to earth

The chunks are marked as "unpopulated" Minecraft itself will populate it as per normal biome generation.

What are your PC specs?

CPU: i7 4820K 3.7 GHZ (specificaly chosen for my use, not the best i7 for the average consumer!)
RAM: 32GB DDR3
GraCa: GeForce GTX 770

Is the cubic buildteam still around? Also, if you had any advice to give for making trees and terraforming (with voxel sniper or world edit) in general what would it be? =P

No it's not. My advice would be to not stare yourself blind on doing something epic or unique. Nothing exciting can be without the contrast of the mundane. There are 999 straight trees in the forest for every crooked one. You notice the crooked one, but only because of the 999 mundane ones.... You need both for a good project and strike a balance. That's my pro tip.

Does that mean you won't build the thingie in lands of asera? :c

I've been told there's no server anymore. But even if there was, no. Stability of my connection has degraded to the point where multiplayer gaming is not really possible. Disconnecting ever few minutes is no fun for anyone.

Lands of asera. *Wink wink wink*

That is sooooo outdated, sure its good. But I don't expect to get anything new out of that. ;)

I'm into baroque stuff. *Wink wink*

Tell you what. You tell me your favorite current texture pack, I'll download it and fire up MC to see if theres a tickle. I have some unpublished fantasyish baroque actually.

Is there a way I can make it myself then?

Based on the fact you are asking me instead of finding out the how to yourself the most honest answer is "no". I run in countless problems when I terraform based on real life data which require creativity and a bit of tenacity to solve. There are no guides, just Google every problem and acquiring knowledge.
You can find the 1:30 source files on earth explorer. SRTM maps. Start there and google everything you don't understand.

I miss seeing architecture stuff from you, Will you do any of buildings again?

I consider that very unlikely. But I have a question for you, which project of mine would you consider the best?

Could such a map possibly be made for me if it's not any trouble? A 1:30 scale map is pretty huge, and is perfect for my project. I did the measurements, and important stuff like the Bay of Naples should be very easily recognized at that size. -Suda

The thing is, it is a trouble ;) that's one of the bigger reasons why there aren't maps available of all over the world, because it's a lot of work to make.

If somebody made a 1:1 map of Italy, how detailed exactly would it be? Would it be completely flat or would it have hills and such? And would I be able to identify, say a specific mountain on such a map? Wondering because I'm trying to work on an Ancient Italy themed server.

1:30 is the best quality data available I think, so no 1:1. And yes, it would be rather flatish. Whether you can recognize a specific mountain depends on the characteristic shape of a mountain, and you having a general knowledge of where you are. Its possible, but I can't very well guarantee things ;)

Hi! Is it possible to create a 1:1 scale map of the Mediterranean/Europe or just a 1:1 scale map of Italy?

No and no. Yes you can make a map matching the surface, but not the detail. The source file quality you need is just not (publicly) available.

Hello! Please tell me how you so accurately created a map of the world in WorldPainter? Are there any secrets?

The secret is: Heightmaps ;) xD

If I was to build a map using your custom trees from the tree repository, am I able to use the map I built with the trees for a server and/or a re-upload to PMC or ant other websites?

Yes. If you used the trees in a build of your own you can release it. The only limitation is reuploading the models as you download them. If other people want to use my trees they should visit my project to grab a copy for themselves. That's really the only restriction in using my tree repositories!

Am I allowed to use trees from your custom tree repository for my server? I also want to make a map to upload to PMC and/or any other websites using your trees :D, PLZ Answer

Yes you can. The one thing you can not do is distributed individual models or the pack as a whole as models. If people want to grab some of my trees they should download my original pack. But if you use the trees in a map, that's perfectly fine.

Hoe ben je zo geniaal over bouwen geworden?

How did i become so good at building? Not sure that i am really. Browse PMC and /r/minecraft a lot, learn from what other people do, expand and improve on it, mix in your own ideas. That's really the only suggestion i have.

Hi! Will there be another update in the future for the Earth map due to 1.8?

The terrain vegetation is not generated yet, and are populated by minecraft. Therefore I assume there won't be -many- incompatibilities. If you experience problems though, let me know!

aangezien je toch nederlands ben vraag ik het ook wel in het nederlands :) Ik ben nu een beetje aan het beginnen met worldpainter en ik vraag me af of jij worldpainter plugins gebruikt, zo ja welke? gr Dirkjan56

Q: "Do you use worldpainter plugins and if so, which ones"
A: I use no plugins, as far as i'm aware, last time i checked, there is a single plugin shared by the developer of worldpainter itself. Last time i checked there is no way for third parties to make plugins, so there are none? Feel free to correct me if it's no longer the case.

Do you ever plan on making an Earth map in a larger scale?

If I do I do not plan on distributing it publicly. Filesize and all. Which is not an answer to your question. But it effectively means no to any follow up questions I reckon.

Hey Lente, sorry to be disturbing but, i have a problem about the map (the earth) in my server, there are chunks problems, like giant holes in sahara, or somethings like this, do you have an issue ? And the version 2's torrent doesn't works !

I haven't downloaded the project from mega myself. Plus it'd be hard to confirm. To check on the map. So no, I don't know. The torrent requires seeders for distribution. In donations I didn't get enough to even pay for one month more on de seedbox. So yeah.....

Did you ever dat at the Thai Tiger? Idk why bit I did have the feeling that I saw you there yesterday

Well it for sure wasn't me. Never heard of that place? Do I have a double? I require a picture!

Will you ever release the Magnus Mudus map? Or will you ever create another public map?

Never say nevet., but short term, I have nothing planned, no.

Do you create your own brushes for WorldPainter?

Yes.
Nowadays i use worldmachine, before that i made some brushes in worldpainter and supplemented it with publicly available brushes which i manipulated in photoshop mostly. Very few of the brushes i downloaded from public sources i left unaltered.

How much do you charge for commissions?

1 kidney and your left eye. Its case to case based, one person needs a 3kx3k map and the other 10kx10k. As you can imagine the prices would be the same. At larger scale there are scaling advantages but complexity might negatively impact prices. So really, unless you have a briefing what you want I can't give a statement.

I'm loving the new Architectural Essentials series, keep up the great work!

They take a lot of time and preperation to make, in all honesty, i haven't done much scripting yet for the second :( feels like spending all the time on other things is more worthwhile :\

Can you build some Baroque/Roccoro style stuff?

I can, but i think you imply "will you", and no. To busy terraforming :)

Will you put the Normandy map up for download, or a video on it?

Not in the foreseeable future. Currently it's quite repetitive terrain, i'm thinking how to structurally break it up. (i don't want to make the variation ingame by hand. It's a large map)

how to get double tallgrass/large fern in wp as a custom ground layer?

You can't as a single block Id. You can make a model of a large fern and use it in a custom model layer.
