Is there no difference between Conservatism and Nationalism them?
Not in my book, except that the latter sounds more scary than the former, but only because the former is familiar. I am saying that what the Conservatives should conserve is the National Interest, and that Nationalism must by definition include social conservatism. The kind of nationalism being advocated by Sinn Feinn and the Scottish National Party is just adolescent nationalism because they are left-wing, high-spending, unrealistic and based mainly on hatred of the English rather than any principled promotion of the long term national interest of the people of Northern Ireland or Scotland.
Genuine and mature nationalism by definition includes a hefty dollop of social conservatism. A good example is General Franco.
