What's it like going to cons and peddling wares? I hope I can do that someday with my books. >.> I expect there's a lot of work and I'm allergic to work.
sorry this got a taaaaaaaad long.
it's a pretty out of body experience to be selling stuff to people (and i will continue to be nervous about it). and BOY HOWDY IT SURE IS A LOT OF WORK YEP. i've only done 3 cons so far, and each time i think SURELY I'LL GET THINGS UNDER CONTROL BEFORE THE CON and N O P E. it's super fun and exciting though! make sure to have a good buddy (i had bitey on my second con, and crow for my third, so we played off each other's energy when with customers really well!) you know you can chill with behind the table, it will make your life easier! i had the good fortune to do my first con with a friend of mine who is a veteran with artist alley stuff, and i learned a lot from them! having a companion you can bounce energy off of helps out a lot, especially if you know yourself to be an introvert (ME. ME. ME... ME....).
but yeah, it's definitely a lot of work, money, blood, sweat, and tears. but play it smart, play it hard, and you'll be good to go :>!!!
