I do think so. Because, they know exactly what the client is going through & what phase they might be in, & how to overcome it. They will feel more empathatic - i'd say- because they have been there & they know how hard it can be. one of the theorists/psychologists -i cant remember- once stated that he does not believe that the human nature is evil & bad as an indiviual, but as a group yes.
