Why is it almost impossible for me to trust anyone?

Low self-esteem. People with low self-esteem often believe that they are not worthy of being trusted. They may also believe that others are only interested in using or manipulating them. This can make it difficult to open up to others and share your true self.

Yes, depression made me feel that way. When you view yourself through a dark shroud of depression, your vision is distorted. Perceived faults are greatly magnified out of proportion. The good is omitted. It’s a tremendous lie, of course, but you can't know that. Depression is the best of thieves. It will steal your life and rob you of all joy if not addressed.
