Do you have any odd fears or phobias? If so, what are they?

I hate crocodiles, alligators and snakes with a passion. They freak me out.
I also hate people who have all white or all black eyes in horror movies. I can put up with basically anything but those eyes are just too much.
I wouldn't say they're phobias per se, but they aren't pleasures in life :p

My girlfriend and I recently broke up and I told her she can have everything we owned except for the Pink Floyd albums. Now she even wants them, but only because her new boyfriend is a fan. Got any advice?

Well, if she originally agreed to you having the Pink Floyd albums then that's that and I wouldn't let her have them. If you're on semi decent terms with her and you want to avoid arguments or something, you can always try to make a deal and find something else you'd be willing to trade half the albums for, or she could just buy them from you. I mean, if she doesn't like Pink Floyd anyway and she only wants the albums because of her new boyfriend, I'm pretty sure you should keep them. She can always buy more anyway :p

In one Stargate episode, SG1 encountered a planet where a trials victim also acted as the judge, because only the victim knows the true extend of their suffering and know what it takes to compensate it. What do you think about that system? Would you consider that fair? Would it work in reality?

imightlikeyoubetter’s Profile PhotoDatgirloverthere
I think in regards to the definition of fairness on it's own, no I don't think it would work because not every criminal would get the same punishment. In regards to the idea in itself, I think it could work. Maybe not in the best way, but in a perfect world it could work.
The pros that I see in this idea are that victims can feel more secure if they choose the punishment, maybe more serious criminals (like murderers, rapists, child molesters, etc) will be put to better use (like for testing new products, physical labor, maybe more actual executions on death row), crimes will be judged on personal severity making it potentially more fair for both victim and criminal.
However, I feel like the cons outweigh the pros. By putting up a system like this, you're taking away the voices of murder victims since they can't speak for themselves and you're essentially saying that children can be fit judges of crime when they themselves often don't know that some things are really, really bad. By allowing everyone to choose their own revenge punishment you're also going to be turning the system upside down because one rape victim might not be vengeful because s/he prefers forgiveness, so they choose maybe either nothing or just a bit of monetary compensation, while someone else may feel like they had their life taken away from them and demand a death sentence for their attacker. That isn't fair because some criminals get off with nothing while others get everything. It's teaching criminals that it's not entirely bad to be a criminal, it's just the luck of the draw. In turn, this can cause criminals to become better at their crimes and find victims that are kinder hearted individuals so they get away with more.
So although it sounds great at first, I think it would soon be disastrous.

If you had the resources to start up your own charity or nonprofit, what issue would you tackle and why? What would your organization's objective be?

I've had this in my inbox for a couple days now because I was trying to think of something good and I feel like I can't think of anything better :$
There are a lot of things I would love to tackle.. In fact I'd love to do something for all of them. I would probably choose something regarding homeless people in America. I would try to provide housing and food, potentially even job opportunities (as minor as they may be) for people that are left with nothing. I like that we, as a country, are so willing to help others all over the world, but I wish we would help our own first. It'd be great if I could actually do something worthwhile and make an impact on our country. I think it's really sad that so many people are living with so little in what's supposed to be the best country in the world. I know how much just the smallest thing can mean to someone who has nothing, and besides being helpful to their futures, I adore seeing genuine happiness on people's faces so helping those that need it would be the best of both worlds I guess?
I also love the idea of something like St. Jude's. I feel like that's such a lovely thing, to help children who are seriously ill and to do it all without charging the families anything. It's an amazing idea, and if I had the funds I would absolutely adore doing something like that if it meant children could get the help they need without costing their families even more than the emotional damage of their child being diagnosed with a life threatening illness.

What potentially nearly possible scientific achievement are you most excited about/scared of?

georgiaaliceox’s Profile PhotoGeorgia-Alice
I'm not much into the scientific community so I don't know how 'nearly possible' anything really is. I think what I'd be most excited about is teleportation and what I'd be most scared of is robots.

A shop or restaurant you have always wanted to check out?

Um, well, usually when I'm interested in checking something out I find a way to check it out as soon as possible. The only places I might not have been able to check out are restaurants/shops I see when I'm traveling but I don't have enough time to make it to all of them. Unfortunately, I can't remember any of those places :$

Are you pro-life or pro-choice? Why?

I'm pro choice. I believe this sums it up pretty perfectly. http://ask.fm/maddyhereee/answer/122147017078
I don't see the desire to control women and their bodies. It seems like a sick fetish or something. I get that it's wrong to murder human beings and whatever, but fetuses are currently legal to abort for a reason. I do disagree with women using abortion as birth control, but it isn't my decision to make-- for anyone but myself. I am 150% pro choice, but I myself wouldn't be able to go through with an abortion.
On top of the moral argument of taking women's freedom to their own bodies away, making abortion illegal will just cause a spike in harmful abortions that could actually have negative consequences on the woman and the fetus (assuming the abortion fails and the fetus does get to full term). We all know making things illegal doesn't make them disappear, so making abortion illegal won't 'fix' anything.
This is an awful comparison, but making abortion illegal is like making birth control illegal. Yes, using abortion as birth control isn't necessarily right or ideal, but let's face it. Sometimes birth control fails. That shouldn't force a woman to have a child.
Adoption is an option too, that's true. But there are so many lovely little boys and girls that are already waiting to be adopted. It sounds awful, but why would you accidentally bring another life into the world when you can intentionally improve someone else's life instead?

Are you for or against animal testing?

As much as I hate it, I think it's very advantageous for us. It isn't ideal, but unfortunately it's useful. One of my professors this semester told us that she had a professor for an animal testing course when she was getting her doctorate. He told her class that in the 20+ years he'd been testing on animals, he'd only had one case where testing had been severe enough to cause injury or death. Although that's only one person's experience, I think those statistics are pretty damn low, implying that animal testing can't be all that bad. Not as bad as we're led to believe at least.

Do you think your sexual orientation is determined at birth or is it something you acquire later on in life? (credits to the internet for this question, I forgot where I saw it but I liked it)

I think actual sexual orientation is determined at birth. However, there are those people that will 'experiment' with other sexes just because they feel like it and that can tarnish everyone else's view of sexual orientation as genetic rather than choice.

Is going to college really worth it?

You know, I've been asking myself this question more and more as I've proceeded through my college education and I have yet to find an answer :$

Do you think that the age to drink alcohol should be lowered?

Yes. The drinking age should be lowered to 18; I personally think it would be a lot safer in almost every way.

What are some habits you have that others may consider weird or abnormal?

--I let my space get beyond messy before I get around to cleaning it.
--I try to keep my foods separated. I hate when my foods touch- mostly when I have foods I like and dislike on the same plate, or when I have hot and cold foods.
--I can't really sit and do just one thing at a time. I'll either have the tv on while I'm on my laptop or phone, or I'll have like 4 tabs open on my computer, or I'll be having a conversation with someone while texting someone else, etc.
--I bite my nails and the skin around them.
--I memorize my orders at places like Subway so that I don't stand there for eternity trying to think of something new (even though I'm not one to always stick to the same thing).
--I wait until the very last minute to do most everything because I can't focus on the task otherwise.
--I talk to myself, the tv, the dog, and almost anything else when I'm alone.
--I make up arguments in my head when I'm mad at someone. I also sometimes rile myself up because I temporarily can't let it go. But I tend to avoid confronting people.
--I sometimes trail off midsentence because I'm thinking of what to say. I'll say 'um', but then I won't say anything for an extended time.
--I reuse plastic water bottles. When I'm using one, once the water warms up a little I top off the bottle and get a fresh, cold one because it tastes better.
--I go through 'obsessive' phases where I'll really really like something and I'll load up on all the new stuff for it and then out of nowhere I'll just stop using it. Like video games. A few years ago I really got into them and I convinced my mom to get me a PlayStation. She bought me the system and a bunch of new games for Christmas, I played them almost all the time for a while and now it's been probably around 8-10 months since I've even touched a video game.
I can't say those really count as habits (or weird/abnormal), but there's a few.. :$

What’s the biggest personal change you’ve ever made?

georgiaaliceox’s Profile PhotoGeorgia-Alice
When I was going into my senior year of high school I decided it was time for me to get fit and healthy so I took up a lot of exercise and somewhat healthier eating. I lost almost 30 pounds (though I've since gained some weight and can't seem to shed it again).

What do you think about when you're alone?

georgiaaliceox’s Profile PhotoGeorgia-Alice
Anything and everything, usually it turns to sad or depressing things though. My mind seems to always drift to the negatives for whatever reason. Like even if it's not originally a negative thought I somehow turn it sad without even meaning to. Like if I'm thinking about how much I love my mom, my mind will turn it into what I'm going to do with myself when she's gone. Or if I'm thinking about how excited I am to see my boyfriend, my mind drifts to the fact that he's going to have to leave again. Among other things. My mind can be a dark place sometimes. I mean it's not ALWAYS negative, which is great, but it does go to the not so great stuff more often than not. So there's my thought process in a nutshell :p

Do you have a tumblr, Pinterest, or instagram? If so, put them down here so your followers can check them out!

My tumblr is Cranberry413 (as my bio says) and my Instagram is for people I at least talk to (I don't even know who follows me on here?).

If you were to adopt an animal, would you look at the shelter, a pet store, local ads, or a breeder? Why?

I'd probably look at local ads or a breeder. At least you know for sure what breed/s you're getting because the parent/s are often on site, it's good to know what breed/s are involved so as to know what kind of health problems the animal/s may end up getting.

Who is your favourite villain from any show/book/movie?

Red Mist, because he's just hysterical.
I also have a strange thing for Bellatrix Lestrange (the movie version).
Severus Snape, though he's not *really* a villain villain.
I can't think of anyone else although I feel like there's that really awesome villain right in the back of my mind :$

You are a big fan of Kick Ass lol xD I haven't watched the movie yet, what's so special about it? :P

I am actually, good observation :p I think it's a great movie! It wasn't what I was expecting (I originally thought it was going to be really stupid), which is always a great start, and I thought the cast was magnificent. It's got the comedy, the action, the superhero, the sad, etc. I always recommend this movie whenever I think of it :p

Sorry to bother, but does anybody have some good movie recommendations? (preferably Action, Sci-Fi, anything like that :P)

I found Django Unchained to be particularly good. It's at least kind of actiony! :p
I also liked Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, 2 Guns, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Avengers, maybe Star Trek?
Umm.. The Italian Job, Gangster Squad, Hancock, Kick-Ass, Red...
I can't think of anymore! :$

What's your favorite quote?

This kind of question is one I've always found impossible to answer due to the mere fact that there are SO many quotes out there. I could find all kinds of quotes that I love for various different reason, but quite frankly I don't want to take the time to hunt them all down and put them here.
I do like this one though. It's from Sucker Punch.
'Everyone has an angel. A guardian who watches over us. We can't know what form they'll take; One day, old man, next day, little girl. But don't let appearances fool you, they can be as fierce as any dragon. Yet they're not here to fight our battles, but to whisper from our hearts. Reminding that it's us. Its every one of us who holds power over the world we create.'
