Is TV getting more violent and grisly? Shows like "Hannibal" and "Game of Thrones" are unapologetically graphic, and even their fans are getting a little shocked by the unpredictable amounts of gore. If so, why do you think this is? Is it because people are harder to shock these days? [link next]

I think that's it exactly. Somewhere down the line, people decided that gore was superior to horror. For a long time, "horror" movies were nothing more than gross out fests, and audiences became desensitized to it. I can handle gore sometimes, if the story it worth sitting through it, and most of the time it's not. But with Game of Thrones and Hannibal, goodness yes! The stories are amazing, and even though gruesome things are depicted, I can't bear to miss a second of it.

Does it bother you when you see an actor in a new role, but you can't stop thinking about them in their old role? Like on "GoT"....there's an actor from the movie "Elf", an actress from "Downton Abbey", and the guy who played "The Office" UK version, (Dwight/Gareth) that I've spotted so far. You?

I forgot that Peter Dinklage was in Elf. I remembered him from Death at a Funeral, though. By the way, if you haven't seen that movie, you MUST. He's in both the British and the American version, but I'd go with the British version :) Seriously, watch it if you haven't already.

What is the funniest or most insulting thing you've ever been told about the type of people you like to date (i.e. your taste in S/O's)? I'll preten... I mean, I really won't also make fun of you.

Most of the guys I gravitate to tend be either moody/brooding, or completely and ridiculously silly.

In those of your preferred gender: what constitutes a “sexy voice?” Being that I'm interested in women, I find Scarlett Johannson to have an amazingly sexy voice, but I can't even explain why I particularly like it.

JessePinkmanGS’s Profile PhotoGrackles Know Your Real Name
I don't know what it is, either. There's just something about some voices that make you freeze on the spot and give you chills. I can't even say anything specific, like a deep voice or something like that, because even voices that aren't too deep can be really sexy. Either way, I like the mystery of it, so I never really tried to understand it.
Ville Valo has one of the sexiest voices I've ever heard. EVER.

In games that allow you freedom over what your character looks like and how they act, do your characters tend to act and/or look like you do, or do you make them drastically different from how you really are? (BQ: If you played Skyrim, what did your character end up being like?)

GSCAustin’s Profile PhotoCAustin
I rarely make them look or act like me. If there are options for other races, I most likely won't even pick a human character. I picked a male Khajiit and made him neutral, and a female Wood Elf and made her evil.
I tried to cast Frenzy on a kid to see if they would attack people and be attacked in turn, but it didn't work :(

Are gays starting to see what marriage is really about now? This is the first big gay divorce that I have heard about. How long do you think it will be before gay divorce stats are at or around 50% like heteros? http://news.yahoo.com/1st-openly-gay-episcopal-bishop-divorce-husband-134027661.html

ThomasGWS’s Profile PhotoThomas
It'll be a while, since couples still have to fight to be recognized as a married couple. Once they don't have to, their numbers will slowly start to match those of hetero couples.

If someone does/says something nice to you out of the blue, do you say to yourself, "well, that was nice!". The end. Or do you say, "I'm suspicious of their motives, there must be a reason why this person was nice to me". Why would a person be paranoid/suspicious at a nice gesture or kind words?

GlindaBells’s Profile PhotoWear A Kilt
From a random stranger, I just accept it and thank them and feel good about it. If it's from someone I have a less than favorable relationship with, then I tend to get a little suspicious, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

is being short as a male really such a big deal? obviously height is a personal preference. just in general, how much does it negatively affect a man's psyche? as a short female i've never considered height much. is it all just hype or what?

sscabss’s Profile Photoscabs
I think it's more of a big deal to them than it is to women. I know 2 guys in particular who really let it get to them. They're always talking about their ambitions regarding money, status, women, and it's really sad that they feel they need those things in order to be happy and respected. Now, there's nothing wrong with an ambitious person, or someone talking about future plans. But that's almost ALL they talk about, how they're going to be somebody, and not caring that to their friends and family, they already are.

Who prays for Satan? Who, in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most?

Have you ever met someone who had numerous “haters” who didn't do things to earn each and every one of them? I'm thinking...no, everyone I've ever known who has complained about “haters” was a complete douche bag.

JessePinkmanGS’s Profile PhotoGrackles Know Your Real Name
Not a single one. I'm sure there's someone out there who's a good person and has people hate them for no reason, but that's got to be extremely rare.

Same for you. Do You think nations will one day band together and apply sanctions to serious polluters like China instead of waffling on regulating themselves alone? Will this generate the climate for another world war? (I sense WW III coming in my books).

Grapplersama’s Profile PhotoTHE Grappler
Yes, once it gets to the point where everyone needs to be environmentally responsible or we'll all die, the nations will come down hard on those that think the rules don't apply to them. It could lead to another world war, sure. We could only hope, right? ;)
