What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?

In 2013, I had the pleasure of hearing Maya Angelou and Nikki Giovanni speak live. Never take yourself out of the running by turning down what could be a life-changing opportunity.

Any piece of advice for any young students on starting a new career?

Ask questions, even the ones that you think are dumb. There are so many older, more experienced professionals that have AMAZING wisdom to share but you'll never get it if you don't ask. Connect with people on LinkedIn, get a career coach, and find a mentor. But also SEARCH for information. Not everything will come easily, things are not always obvious, and sometimes there is no way to avoid working hard. Don't be afraid to dig for information. You can't cheat the hustle.
