What are some of your driving pet peeves? What about things other people do when you're driving with them that scares you shitless? We all know that one reckless driver...

When I see someone texting or holding a phone to their head while they drive it pisses me off to no end. Bluetooth that shit and wait until you stop to look at your fucking phone, people! I don't get scared by other drivers. I get annoyed with them, but never scared. My girlfriend drives like an asshole, and she openly admits it, so I do most of the driving when we go places. Riding other drivers, not using a turn signal, creeping in the passing lanes, and just plain driving like a cunt irritates the shit out of me.

I feel like she's being made out to be a hero for saying what many people have been saying for years. I don't disagree with her, and I support what she's saying, I just don't think she's stating anything that hasn't already been stated by more eloquent speakers. I like her, I just don't think people view her properly. She's the unofficial spokesperson for "Real Women" a.k.a. overweight women, even though she's a very fit and attractive woman. Now she's saying she's not sorry for doing something she shouldn't be sorry for doing, much like 90% of the other ladies that were violated that very same day, and her words mean more than any of the others? Why? Did she really say anything so profound that it warrants admiration above all the other women that were violated the same day as she?
I am proud of her for handling things the way that she has, but for the love of science, please do not make her into a spokesperson for anything else. She's just a woman with a talent for acting. She's not an activist, she's not trying to be, so people should stop using her popularity as an excuse to force her into these roles that she is not interested in or prepared for. Doing so is just another violation of her basic right to choose who and what she does with her life. There are others that are very interested, prepared, and incredibly well spoken. Have we so soon forgotten Emma Watson's speech to the UN? If they must be actors, then let us not forget these activists: Natalie Portman, Ellen DeGeneres, Matt Damon, the aforementioned Emma Watson, Margaret Cho, Jennifer's Hunger Games co-star Josh Hutcherson, Mira Sorvino, Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie, Olivia Wilde, Janeane Garofalo, Tina Fey, so on and so forth. Why must we force her into this role simply because she's super popular right now? How is that fair to her or any women's rights (or any movement, really) movement? You don't hire someone for an important job against their will simply because they are popular, you elect and/or select a person that wants the position and is one of the most qualified for it.
I adore Jennifer Lawrence, but I can't say I look up to her any more than I'd say I look up to anyone that handles a shitty situation in a mostly graceful manner.

I do. My son just turned 4 last month. I'm 31 and I've only known for a year. It was suggested by a few teachers when I was younger, but they dismissed it because I was "too articulate." I don't know if my not knowing was a blessing or a curse, but knowing now is a relief. It changed nothing about my life, but it explained so many things. It was a relief.

Do you often envy people ? If yes , then for what ?

Yes. I envy empathy. I can go on and on about how it is mostly pointless, but the one thing it allows people to do that people like me can't is connect. We love, we feel, we aren't freaks; but we can't connect the way the average person can. I've only had two relationships in which I felt connected, they both ended, and we no longer have a connection. I'm not just talking about romantic relationships either, I mean all of them. I think I almost had another one, but I screwed that up. My son is a new type of connection for me, but I'm still not sure how to describe it.
I'm rambling now and not making the sense I want to make. I just envy being able to look at someone and feel what they feel. To just know through emotional connection rather than through hollow analysis and observation.

You can join their mailing list and get updates on the progress of studies. I get an email or two every few months. It was one or two a year, but this last couple of years the updates have been becoming more and more frequent, which is awesome.
