What direction will the Orca go design-wise? As you said, the Advance Scout kinda feels like a sibling of he Chief - so what would you say will the Orca be like?

Well, it already "went". It's done. Pic attached.
The Advance Scout was designed to Petr's specs, and combined elements of the Chief and Bonfire...which is what he wanted.
The Orca was designed to Harrison's specs, and he wanted something new. Fast, light, and stable. So that's what he got. -Steve

Is it possible to be sponsored by a certain company even though you are using a throw from another company?

I don't understand your question. Are you asking if sponsored players are allowed to touch and play with return tops from other companies? Or are you asking if they are allowed to compete with them?
Sure, sponsored players frequently try out and play with return tops from other manufacturers. Always good to know what is happening in the market. But if you're sponsored, it's really bad form to compete with something other than your sponsor's product. -Steve

Hey guys I need help! I'm MAD in love with the gnar2, any suggestion for my next throw? Is there anything with similiar dimensions? Also asking while drunk: when do I know I'm too drunk for yoyoing? :P

Head for the Puffin 2 next. You'll dig it.
You're too drunk for return tops when you start watching the old Arne Dixon Duncan video and think "THIS IS BRILLIANT". -Steve

Should I leave the bearing shield on when applying lube?

Yes. Absolutely.
Public Service Announcement: LEAVE YOUr BEARING SHIELDS ALONE.
More bearings are ruined by people screwing around with the bearing shields than anything else. If your bearing has shields on it, then it was designed to have shields on it and by taking them off you are disrupting the natural order of things. Volcanoes, floods, dog and cats sleeping together....MASS HYSTERIA! -Steve

So, if the Gnar2 is WAY more stable, doesn't that make the WM2 look bad? I mean, I'm not that much of an expert, but what advantage could a not-that-stable return top bring to make it better than one super stable? Is there something important I'm missing?

It's all preference. More stable / less stable doesn't mean better / worse. And "less stable" doesn't mean "not stable".
Everyone here expects us to be able to definitively quantify each and every aspect of our return tops but the reality is that it doesn't actually matter what we think of them. We design them to our tastes or our player's specs, we manufacture them to the highest quality standards possible, and then it's entirely up to YOU to determine if it's stable enough for your tricks, if it's fast enough for your style, and if it feels the way you want a return top to feel. No matter what answer I give you, it's going to be wrong to someone. -Steve

When I knot my chief around the bearing, I like to pretend I'm playing fixed axle and do stalls for a few minutes. Makes me wonder more and more why you guys haven't done fixies Just thought you'd think it's sho dope

Protip: You can make any metal CLYW return top a fixed axle by just removing the bearing and screwing it back together.
I did this in Prague with a Bonfire, and used it to win a Fixed Axle Battle between me, Ben McPhee, and Hank Freeman. #baller -Steve

Charles guy is the video producer for clyw and a team member. Have you heard about Chris? He owns the company and stuff. But I know how popular Steve's answers are, he has a unique way of writing. I will leave open some questions for him don't worry! - Charles guy
