Steve I trust your taste... did you watch Dawn Of Justice or not? If yes did you like it?
Yes. I thought it was perfectly cast and horribly written. The story was garbage, told badly, the movie needed about 45 minutes cut out of it, and Zach Snyder needs to go back to film school. Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck were fantastic, though. Gail Gadot might have been great, but they gave her almost no screen time and zero character development.-Steve
How are the tension retention capabilities of Kitty Fat? I hate it when i am going to do a slack trick and have to stop midway to adjust tension...
You're going to have to adjust tension constantly. That's just a fact of return top play. I've found that Kitty String holds tension fairly well during heavy play, and better than average. Obviously much stiffer, heavier strings will hold tension the best but those are often kinda crappy to play with, so it's a trade off. Kitty String is a great all-around string for casual or competition play. -Steve
I spied pizza patches on your Snapchat! Will they be sold on your site soon?
Nope! We just had a handful left over from the Pizza shirts and I thought it would be fun to bring them to Canada Nats. Working on some other patches for retail, though. -Steve
Whats the difference between 8-ball and 10-ball bearings? Do they have any impact on spin times?
10-ball uses a smaller ball, so theoretically each one has less surface area touching the races which should reduce friction and lead to a longer spin time. Realistically, I've seen 8-ball bearings that spin just as long or longer than 10-ball, and unless you are putting these bearings into actual machinery (not return tops) the difference will be negligible and unnoticeable. The only really difference between return top bearings is centering vs flat, and good quality vs not. When you start getting into the number of balls in the bearing you've fallen into a "gear nerd" rabbit hole that is going to give you ever diminishing returns. Players will definitely develop preferences...a certain bearing will just *click* with them and they'll tend to stick with that one. I personally stick with CTX or Gold CT bearings. I prefer the gold but they are pricey, ha ha. But until you hit a really high level of play, you aren't going to notice a ton of difference. -Steve
How do you come up with the names for your products?
We have a massive list of possible names that we are constantly adding to every time we get an idea. When it's time to name a product, we start with that list. -Steve
Steve- Got back into yoyos after almost 20 years when I was a kid. Found out about CLYW a few weeks after the Blizzard drop and missed the Maiderade. My question is will there be any Maiderade's in the next batch. I am so addicted to Maider's Blizzard video I just have to have that one! He kills it!
Not sure. Hopefully. -Steve
Any tutorials by Chris coming out soon? His tricks seem to be the only ones I can do. Steve should do some tutorials also.
I'll check and see if we have any left! -Steve
can you tell tessa to give me my toupee back?
Finders keepers. -Steve
Have you guys ever had some crazy idea for a yoyo, and just tried making it? I was thinking it would be really cool if you had some sort of sub-brabd for crazy ideas and experimentation, without threatening your reputation for consistency and designs based on preformance. What do you think?
Thanks!
I remember reading somewhere about a new team member. Is that true?
Possibly.
Are splash colors foreseeable in the future for Blizzards? For example 28 Stories, Clairview Station, Ask Berry, BBB, Electric Bacon, and Northern Lights
Working on some splashes for Blizzard, but they might be new colors instead of existing, until this new anodizer gets things dialed in. -Steve
Any chance of 2A-5A cabin tutorials?
Would love to do some 3A and 5A, just a matter of having someone to film Palli and Petr. -Steve
