Why did you originally choose that weird plastic for the yeti one?

We wanted something different, that was more dense and would allow us to make a plastic return top that played close to a metal and had a more organic feel than polycarbonate. It almost worked...felt nice, looked really cool, just ultimately pretty crappy material for making return tops. -Steve

Is it wrong if I ask other players questions ? I mean have you asked players when you was young also did Zach and other have askes other players for advises ?

Nope, not wrong at all. Ask away! -Steve

Any Borealis fg coming out? Also what would be the reason for the lube not quieting down the bearing? Just need more lube?

I don't have full FG counts in front of me, so not sure what we have for Borealis, sorry.
These bearings shipped really, really dry so the normal drop or two might not be enough. -Steve

Thank you guys for answer our questions . Thank you Steve ! But I still want to ask the other team members like Ayumu and Harrison :D

Best place to get an answer is to hit them up directly on Facebook. :) -Steve

Going off of the guy who recommended the name the Yuukon, it could have like a signature phrase of something like, "Feel the Flow" :)

Thanks for the suggestion! -Steve

any fg blizzards coming in the next drop, or fg borealis

There are no FG Blizzards at all, sorry. Lots of other Fool's Gold, though, including an entire damn run of Sasquatch. :( -Steve

my big dipper is playing really loudly even after i gave it a drop or 2 of lube. How can I fix this?

Try another drop of lube. If that doesn't help, drop us a line at thelodge@clyw.ca. -Steve

Would you recommend spinning a bearing with compressed air? (Drying, and breaking in)

I never had much luck with this technique. Would always fry them. Felt letting them dry for 24 hours or more worked better. -Chris

The new borealis has a matte finish despite being gruntbull anodized. Is the gruntbull blast retired?

To my knowledge, nothing has changed with our finish on this recent run. We didn't order or request any changes. -Steve

How much does it cost per yoyo to do Rainbow Trout? It's gorgeous.

Sorry, we don't lay our costs out on Ask.fm. But yes, it's definitely gorgeous! -Steve

How would define a trick? When we start throwing our first "trick" is a sleeper but as we progress we have tricks that are more like combos.... So the tricks that we thought are tricks just seem like normal non tricky tricks.. 😐

I've always personally defined a trick as a single unique and definable move with a beginning, middle, and end. Anything that is a series of unique and definable moves is a combo. A lot of people will disagree with me on that. It's a very hard thing to pin down. Some tricks are a series of moves, other tricks are a single, big crazy move (more commonly called 'bangers'). I used to get really tangled up in the terminology, but I honestly don't worry about it so much anymore. -Steve

Actually I mean I would like to keep the current bearing. It is much quieter and feels more solidly constructed than a KK or just about anything else I have with the only possible exception being some of the NSKs.

I think you just got a super awesome one. Nice! -Steve

Hey Zach , how much should I practice to imporove ?

How much? I'm not totally sure I understand what you mean. If you're not on some sort of time restraint I'd just say practice until you get to the level you want to be at? Haha -Zach

I love you tricks Zach! How do you come up with them? Is it just a natural thing you do or do you get inspired by other and study people's freestyles and videos? It's super appealing to watch what's next after an element you throw. Always looks tech and flow without forcing it. I love it!

Glad you like my tricks :) I would say that it can be either. Sometimes trick ideas will sorta pop into my head automatically as I'm yoyoing for fun but other times it requires more conscious thinking. Of course I am inspired by other yoyoers so sometimes I may try and put a spin on ones trick I like. -Zach

Love it when you guys post videos of your team members on your Instagram, keep up the good work!

Thanks! Our team makes it easy...they're so damn good. -Steve

Did you use a new bearingin the big dipper? so much smoother than your previous ones.

Yep, it's a new bearing that the factory sourced for us. It's pretty good, but we think we can do better. Working on making the switch to licensed Konkave bearings for everything! -Steve

Every return top releasing is always better the the one before... Is Chris going to improve his desining skills for ever?

That's the plan. Until eventually his designs become so good that all he has to do is think about them, and we all get up from our chairs simultaneously and just start throwing money in the direction of Canada. Judges will see that a player has one of Chris' return tops in his pocket and just hand them the trophy. Dogs and cats, living together...mass hysteria! -Steve
