If you stumbled upon a previously undiscovered kingdom of fairies in the woods, what do you think you'd do? 🧚♂️🍄 (Inspired by this year's theme for the musical I'm a part of)
🧚🏿♂️ Well in 1917 in Cottingley, Yorkshire, England two girls claimed to have done just this.
🧚 Elsie was 16 and Frances was 9, and they took pictures of the fairies that they had made from paper. For the time, the pictures looked so realistic that they even convinced Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of Sherlock Holmes, that fairies lived in Cottingley.
🧚🏼♀️ Now, if I stumbled across a kingdom of faery I’d stay well away, and not tell anyone about it, lest I was taken by the Faery Queen and forced to dance for her for 100 years.
