Sometimes you’ve got to run away to see who will run after you. Sometimes you’ve got to talk quieter to see who’s really listening. Sometimes you’ve got to step up to fight only to see who’s standing by your side. Sometimes you’ve got to make a wrong decision only to see who’s there to help you fix it. Sometimes you’ve got to let go of the one you love just to see if they love you enough to come back to you.

Ive been debating whether or not to post something because I didn’t know Cameron. Not the way so many people knew him. Its weird because i’m not experiencing the pain his friends and family are dealing with, yet something about his passing feels like I want to throw up and sob. I met him at a party. If you know me, you know Im not really a party person. I walked in with sav and tyler feeling a little insecure, out of place, and not interesting or pretty enough. LA can make you feel like that sometimes. At some point Cameron started talking to us. We talked and laughed and even got a complaint from neighbors for laughing so loud outside. He heard me sing for a second and gave me encouraging and kind words. He said he loves singing too n also tries to hide it. I said we should all sing right now. He smiled and instantly, his whole face lit up. He didnt seem to care that there were a bunch of people inside listening to trap music and drinking. He was excited for the opportunity to have fun and be creative. We all spent the rest of the night talking, singing and dancing along to old disney and hsm songs in the other room. He made me feel welcome, important, interesting, and fun. He had no idea who I was, what I do, he really didnt have to be so kind to me. But he was. It was the most fun I’d had at a party in LA where I only knew a handful of people. I was too shy to try to keep in contact with him and his friends. Maybe one day I’ll see them again. Maybe at an audition or at a party and we’ll laugh about it and keep in touch. That day never came, I never reached out. I never got to tell him how much it impacted me. You touched everyone who got to meet you. Your talent was indisputable. You were humble and kind. That “thing” about him no one can put into words is real. He was a star. Thank you. I hope we can all sing and dance again.
