Pain is caused by tragedy when you lose someone you love.
The darkness had overcome the small town called Mystic Falls, the name was very much ironic since everything about the town seemed to be very fitting with the name. Elena was standing under the street lights with her arms crossed over her chest, waiting for her parents to pick her up after the party she had just attended to. It was a chilly night, and the steaming breath showed in the air as she was breathing with her mouth open.
After a while two car lights could be spotted in the distance, it came closer and closer to her. 'Finally' She thought to herself as she saw her parents car, it had taken them long enough and Elena was getting more and more sleepy, due to alcohol she had been drinking. She knew that she had promised her parents not to drink anything with alcohol in it, but it was so hard for her to say no to the temptation.
"Hello, Elena." Her father spoke out as she got into the car that was going to take her home. "Hey." She whispered in an attempt to not let her alcoholic breath escape her mouth. With the seatbelt on the drove off into the dark to finally get home, or so she thought.
After awhile of driving her father asked out of the blue. "Have you been drinking, Elena?" She bit her bottom lip as she grew nervous, they had caught her. "No." She simply answered. "Don't lie honey, we can smell the alcohol from here." Her mother said as she looked back at Elena, so did her father, they was going to drive over the bridge but instead of driving over it they drove right into the water.
Water sowly filled the car, and panic filled her body. She could see her family slowly fading away into the light, they were dying. "No." She tried to scream, but darkness took over her, she was unconscious. She woke up in the hospital and she knew exactly what had happend. The girl named Elena Gilbert had survived and her parents had died because of her, the guilt that filled her body grew stronger and stronger for each day that passed by. She was alone, in her own world.
