Contrary to popular belief from random backpackers, no, they do not grow like fucking carrots, and not like fucking coconuts.
Also, if you're at a shop and they have a pineapple that doesn't have a top on it, it's cause some science people made fancy ass pineapples and put a patent on them, so you can't legally distribute the crop material.
Except the fancy ass pineapples are only fancy cause they taste sweeter in winter, but they're tiny so nobody fucking cares.
