If you could live forever, would you want to?
Absolutely. I'd like to witness how the world progresses over hundreds of years and how it all ends.
If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
'Gleamed: Adding the Sparkle to Illustration'. It was the title of an article regarding my illustrations posted at the MaMoMi Initiative website, and I thought it was so lovely!
When was the last time you screamed?
When I won the Gillian Lawrence Award at the Pride of Henshaws Ball 2015!
What is your favourite TV show?
My absolute favourites will always be Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel; those were my introductions to fandom! I also enjoy Doctor Who, Sherlock, Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey.
What problems did you have in school?
The only problems I ever had orientated around the difficulty my severe visual impairment caused. It made P.E burdensome, especially since everything we did was so visual (football, hockey, netball, rounders) and wasn't adapted to my needs, as well as teachers constantly using the blackboard and whiteboard without providing the notes to me. Sighted friends would have to read it out to me instead.
If there is one thing that you could change about the past, what would that be?
I try to have no regrets. Everything in the past happened for a reason and makes me who I am today.
Do you wear any jewelry?
I do! I'm obsessed with accessorising and colour co-ordinating my outfits. As the jewellery I choose is so tactile - incorporating beads, sequins and feathers - I find it easy to distinguish each piece, as someone with a severe visual impairment.
It's a bit of a guilty pleasure, but Maroon 5 - Maps!
Who inspires you?
My mum! She's so selfless and caring and my ultimate role model. I aim to be at least half the wonderful person that she is.
What do you think is the most enjoyable thing?
Volunteering my time and experience in helping other people in a similar situation to myself; suffering from constant decreasing sight and finding new solutions to the obstacles that present themselves - as well as raising awareness of the charities and organisations that can help make a positive impact on confidence, independence and fundamental skills.
Which is the most delicious food for you?
Anything Italian! And of course… chocolate!
How do you spend most of your time on the Internet?
Blogging, updating social media, sending e-mails and keeping up to date with VI news
How do you spend the majority of your free time?
At the moment I'm filling my (very rare!) free time with looming and crocheting, with a little bit of illustrating here and there.
Do you like modern art?
Yes, I appreciate most forms of art. I think putting so much time and effort into the process of making something, especially if it represents something special and meaningful to the artist, is very beautiful in itself.
What is your favorite word?
Glittered or gleamed; I tend to used them for my usernames on the internet
