In you personal experience, in relationships, do women usually end up with the chore of doing the laundry? If you could, would you rather have someone do it for you?

Yes, we do seem to be the ones to do laundry...that said, I don't want anyone else to do my laundry for me. I have too many things that would get ruined if they weren't hand washed, or hung to dry, or some sort of special care given to them. Bras at Victoria's Secret are what, like $50 now? Definitely not a job for a casual launderer.

Have the police ever showed up at your house in the middle of the night banging on your door? If so, what did you do? Or were they looking for someone else? BQ: Has a police officer ever treated you badly because of your race or monetary class? Please explain.

Not in the middle of the night, but during the day. It seems my neighbor across the street reported my cats to the cops, saying they were trespassing on her property and that they knocked over her garbage cans. *rolls eyes* My cats are indoor cats.
Even the cops rolled their eyes. No cat is strong enough to knock over a full trash can by the curb, and we have possums and raccoons who were the likely suspects. So it turned out that my neighbor (who is a different nationality/religion) hates cats because they represent "death" in her culture. (?) And she threatened to have her husband shoot any cats that came in her yard. And she kicked the other neighbor's dog who was in it's own yard!
And they still have flashing colored Christmas lights over the garage door that are making me INSANE. Thank you for letting me vent, cause I kinda went off on a tangent. *curtsies*

This is like the 3rd time someone has accused me of being a pampered gay white boy. Do I give that impression? Please be honest. Honest answers, as much as I hate hearing them sometimes, are still the best policy. <3 Sometimes I need a reality check. :(

Pffft...it's just someone who's jelly. However, I will say the concept of a stay-at-home-boyfriend never even crossed my radar until you started talking about it. It's an interesting dynamic, and you clearly love your bf and take care of him and the house. xo

Flashback Friday! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATWnH-yb6-o Happy weekend everyone! :) BQ: Favorite British band?

ThomasGWS’s Profile PhotoThomas
Favorite British band is The Rolling Stones. Surprise! I had some pics and video I took at their last concert I went to, but as Mick was strutting down his catwalk towards the area I was sitting in, my hands started to shake so they're not much good. So I'll go with the standard pic. lol

Hmm, have any of you ever read a book where a character was made to be felt bad for, but who just made you angry because they won't do shii for themselves?

TheDeathOfLiz’s Profile PhotoBean
Yeah, that's the theme of most romance books. The damsel in distress thing and then a man comes along and saves her. I still like to read them though. :) Hi LizzyBae.

Can we have a serious discussion about Batman? Why doesn't he pour his fortune into education and social programs instead of being a vigilante? Does he really care about fixing Gotham, or does he need to punch at villains that represent the dude who killed his parents?

Lol
No one would watch a show about a SuperHero who spends his time with bureaucracy and Head Start programs, and homeless shelters. He's just not a behind-the-desk kind of guy. Plus, how would he use the Batmobile? To send congress bills instead of faxing them over? Silly gurl. *waves*

So, where did Rain(Ann), Serena and Hannah go? Bring them back right meooooow! I miss them. :( Are they in your dungeon? :(

And Temple and CF... :( I miss them all!

Why do our cats and dogs enjoy us petting them? There really isn't anything in nature (from their wild roots) what would mimic a human hand petting them across the back.

Neo_gs’s Profile PhotoNeo Wants To Feel A Scooch
From what I understand, petting reminds them of being groomed by their mothers when they were kittens. Sometimes my cats will lick the area I was petting, and I don't know if they are savoring the smell of me, or washing it off. lol
I do know they just hate it when I wear hand lotion. They snub my petting attempts. =^..^= Maybe one of you men can invent catnip scented hand lotion.

I have creepy new neighbors. I don't mean creepy as in not cute, therefore creepy, but genuinely creepy. How often do you check to see if any sex predators have moved into or near your neighborhood?

Applepop’s Profile PhotoⲆⲣⲣⳑⲉⲣⲟⲣ
I did it about a year ago. As I remember, I entered my address, and the site showed me the results for like a 3 mile radius. I was surprised at how many people were on it, but then....it didn't label them by name, or tell what they were convicted of specifically. If they were directly across the street or next door, I'd be a bit worried, but have not had any problems. I'm sorry about your creepy neighbors. :( Be careful. xoxo

Kind of tempted to say why I'm drunk today, but I change my mind I don't really trust most of yo lol only a few xD like three. still like talking to you all, so don't get offended lol

TheDeathOfLiz’s Profile PhotoBean
You only trust 3 of us?? Sheesh. Now I'm going to wonder incessantly if I am on your list or not. ;)

I finally have a source that isn't related to me and therefore I can actually pick and choose what I want to drink, so what should I get? I usually just go with vodka, I'm kind of curious about trying things with flavor but idk. Suggestions? Something that isn't light in alcoholic content please xD

Jager bombs are good. You mix Jagermeister (a liquor that tastes a bit like licorice) with Red Bull, and the combination is pretty darn good. Drink responsibly, lovely one!

Anyone remember the movie groundhog day? It'd be great to repeat the same day for several years. It can become dull, but you have all the time in the world to become proficient in music, art, dancing, sciences, literature. I'd volunteer for that experience if there was an eventual escape. Would you?

Hmm I never thought of it that way before. And I loved that movie. So yes, I'm in! Hi Sandra

Whoa....I can't believe that didn't escalate into a physical brawl...it would have here in the US. If that irritating woman said only half of what she did here, I think she'd have been jumped and it would have turned into violence of some sort. She just didn't know when to shut up, did she. And she kept coming back to dish out more.
To answer your question, racist thoughts and beliefs are not in and of themselves a crime here in the US, no. What she said on the train would fall under our "freedom of speech" laws and would be technically legal. But if someone *acts* upon their racism, then it could fall under anti-discriminatory laws.
So say for instance, that a landlord would only let whites rent his properties- yes, a crime. A manager refuses to hire ethnic minorities- yes, a crime. The KKK terrorizes a family for being another race- yes, a crime. I think that's right and fair. We can't legislate people's opinions, but we can legislate their deeds if they fall under discriminatory actions or hate crimes.

Have you changed any opinions because of discussions you've had here or on YA? I changed my mind about my support of hunting animals. I didn't support it before, but as long as considerations are taken for population issues, at least those animals live better than the ones we farm. HBU?

sandrawhat’s Profile PhotoWhat
Yes. I've learned about the 3rd wave feminism, and I disagree with quite a bit of it. Before YA, I only knew the basics of feminism, that it was equal pay for equal work, no discrimination in jobs, basic laws that were a result of feminism. But I had no idea of the entitlements that are a result of 3rd wave Feminism, and how much it is at a man's expense. Hi Sandra! *waves*

Inspired by Neo and Save The Drama Fo Yo Mama: Is it a bad sign if a potential partner doesn't like kids? Why / why not?

Only if the other partner likes kids and wants to be a parent some day. Then they're not evenly matched. But there are plenty of women and men out there who don't want to have children anyway, so hopefully they can find each other.
A mistake some women make is when they marry a man who says he doesn't want children upfront, but she thinks she can change his mind later, after they're married. That's not a good idea. :)
