What is it that leads virtually any article about a female celebrity into a debate on whether or not she's "fat"? I have a hard time finding an exception to this rule. Do people just feel better about themselves by bashing someone famous from behind their computer screen?

Yes, I think so. Also, a lot of people seem to think that celebrities belong to the public, and therefore are not "real" people who's feelings can be hurt. They think that they have the right to comment on their appearance, the same way they feel the right to comment on Starbucks, as if the celebrity was a "product".

If the discrepancy is under $5, don't worry about it, they usually can make it up with petty cash at the end of the day.
But if it's a significant amount, sometimes the cashier will get in trouble or they will make them pay the difference....in which case, I'd call and give permission over the phone for them to deduct the amount due from your card. :)

The Wizard of Oz books because finding all the Oz books in my school library started my path to being a big reader. Some of the most difficult times in my childhood, I could lose myself in the land of Oz and all the creative and interesting characters. I still remember the tree that grew lunchboxes, and the robot named Tik Tok, Ozma, and the Patchwork Girl. And the one princess who had a collection of heads and could put on a new head every day to change her looks. lol

None, because they are entertainers, and most of them are extremely liberal. I have been to concerts before where the person will launch into some political tirade, and it *does* affect my enjoyment of the concert. I paid to hear them sing, not give a political speech. Hi Gun :)

CC, I wish I understood your desperate need for a man. It's as if you will take anyone willing who meets your basic criteria, even from the internet. I worry for you that you meet some internet guy, tell him you have a little girl, and he will say whatever it is you want him to say in order to get to your daughter. That's what some pedophiles do, groom the mothers so they can get to the kid.
You don't need a man to make you complete, nor do men need a woman. You are a whole, complete person yourself. I have seen a lot of people here give you good advice, but it's the worst advice that you seem to listen to. Your daughter is number one, *first* and *foremost* before a man. Relationships will come and go in your lifetime, but your daughter will always be your daughter, and she depends on you to protect and nurture her.
1. At what age do women become unwanted and unimportant? Never. Women are wanted and important to their children, to their sisters and brothers, to their aunts and uncles, to their cousins, to their friends.
2. "I'm not wanted much now" - Ginny would beg to differ. You are her whole world. Concentrate on her, and doing something to move yourself forward in life, and when you are ready, a relationship will come. You can't force these things. *hugs*

I didn't even know that drinking alone was supposed to be taboo until a few months ago at most. Cultural difference spotted xD, it's a solo ritual in my family... Well, other than the social drinking. Lol what is your view on alcohol use?

Is it taboo to drink alone, even if it's just one glass? I thought it was just one sign out of a list to check and see if a person is an alcoholic.
I have a glass of wine beside me right now, and I don't have a drinking problem, I only drink maybe 3-4 glasses a week. So my view on alcohol use is not to make it a big deal, and then people won't go bonkers when they finally get it and binge drink. Let kids have a sip of wine or beer if they are curious (and at home) and they will all go "ewww" and not be interested in it. The more mysterious and taboo we make it, the more enticing it is to them. Hiya Gorgeous. :)

Probably it's more difficult for the older ones to adjust to the societal changes that make up the mindset of a younger generation. Things that were taboo to the older ones, are not shocking to the younger ones anymore. The technology and the way people communicate have changed so much, that many of the older generation think younger people are rude now...like texting thank you notes, or emailing invitations, or messing around on their phone during conversations.

How early do you start Christmas shopping? How many people do you shop for and why them? I only have 11 people to shop for and now $694 from my stint job (lol, quit). However, I crossed off my first one today.

lol I love this question, because I have a clear picture in my mind of those that identify as MGTOWs.
I like to think the feminine version of MGTOWs are a bunch of lonely, awkward, homely spinsters who could never get a date, and then formed a group saying "you don't want me, so therefore I don't want you" to save face. Like it's a *choice* that no one ever asks them out.
People like that will only "go their own way" until the right person comes along. ;)

I don't know that it's artistic people are *damaged* per say...but their minds do work differently. There is a higher rate of psych issues such as OCD, Bi-Polar, Depression, etc. with people who are very artistic. But there is also the school of thought that creative/artistic people are closer to their higher selves, the part of us that is divine.

Who's going to pay his creditors that he ordered from, the tooth fairy? He has stolen goods/services, and has the money to pay for them, yet he is claiming he can't pay them. Pffft. Why would anyone admire someone who is immoral, unethical, a thief and a liar? I feel bad for his creditors, who were ripped off. Not cool at all.

Was anyone ever put in a remedial class of any kind in a public school (or know enough about them to be able to comment on them)? Did they actually accomplish any remediation, or were they just rooms to throw problem kids in so they wouldn't disrupt the other kids?

I don't know anything about it, except that I was held back a year from pre-school for being "disruptive" in class. My mom showed me the report card. That's all it said "disruptive". wtf was I doing?? I was only 4. Aren't most 4 year-old's disruptive in some way?
Anyway, so I was always one of the older ones in my class, and got my driver's license before my friends, so I was quite smug about that and never told anyone the reason why.
(I did graduate college with a 3.8, FYI so you don't think I'm stupid. :))

There was a family gathering, and I was sitting on the couch against the wall. On the other side of the wall was the bathroom. My male cousin had announced earlier that he was severely backed up and asked if anyone had some ExLax. Some was found, and when I was sitting on that couch hours later, we could hear every single sound he was making coming through the thin wall of the bathroom. The whole room laughed so hard at his sound effects and dramatic noises....when he came out, his face was bright red. Poor guy. lol

How do you respond when someone uses a “trump card” on you during a discussion or argument? For example, a friend of a friend of mine was a Marine. Should you disagree with him pertaining to any issue concerning the military, “You didn’t serve.” and that’s it. Discussion over.

What's going to happen to your parents when they're older and can't live by themselves? Do you plan on caring for them? Are you going to foot the bill for their assisted living? I can't imagine wanting to do either of those. Maybe a nursing home if I can afford it.
