How are the horses?

Pretty good! Alfie is getting tight through the hips often but we have figured out why and how to manage it. Cosmo is a bit eh, hopefully running some bloods again soon and little Mimi is being started under saddle soon before being sold! ?

I hope this isn't triggering to you.. Sorry if it is.. But I've hurt myself a few times.. It's nothing serious. But I'm not sure how to deal with it. I can't tell my parents and I don't know how to tell anyone because it's embarrassing and I just feel so dumb. I just don't know what to do.. ?

I'm so sorry ? it's certainly not anything to feel embarrassed about as it's most likely a lot more common than you think! If there is someone else that you're really close with (best friend, partner, other family member?) that you could be of benefit. Also have you thought of seeing a councillor? You're definitely not alone and shouldn't feel embarrassed! Hope you can find the help you're looking for x

Ur dogs are so big! Like mini horses lol

The two I posted photos of are only medium sized dogs ? I personally hate small dogs ?

Goals with Alfie for this year?

Get him really consistent on the flat and improve concentration/performance out at shows. Jumping wise - keep his confidence up and take him out as much as I can (although the height this year will stay low (80cm max) because he's 5 years old and still a baby brain) ?

Plans for today?

Lazy Sunday apart from taking Alf down to the equestrian centre to do some pole work/gymnastics exercises ? it's currently 9:45am and I'm still in bed lol oops

Any suggestions on putting weight on? Or what you've had most success with? My horse is at a bit of a standstill, not horribly underweight, but a little to bony in the hind, with a few ribs showing. Definitely needing a push, any suggestions would be amazing!

How old is the horse? What is their workload? I would suggest looking into possible ulcers, and make sure the horse has access to quality hay/grass at all times. If the horse is in work I would look into a high protein feed. I also use rice bran pellets for extra weight (oil can be used too) and lucerne ? also check teeth and worming are up to date. Hope this helps!

What saddle situation?

So my Santa Cruz didn't fit and was causing lots of bucking, I sold that and somehow ended up buying a dressage (Stuuben Maestoso) and a jump (Pessoa Paris) ? they both fit really well so I'm excited!

Next show?

Small dressage one this weekend and jumping next weekend, so excited I have sorted my saddle situation!

Are you religious?

No. I don't believe in God but I'm sort of superstitious I guess in that i believe everything happens for a reason and that I hope there's more after death ♀️

Favourite thing to do with your horse?

Honestly I've just started to really enjoy flat schooling because I finally feel like we're getting somewhere, but can't beat a good jump school whether it's SJ or XC ?

Do you use spurs?

Yes for jumping to help with turning when he's evading my leg and only during walk and trot for flat work ATM as he will buck if they touch him in canter.. it's a work in progress haha

Op on the new spur belly guards?

I think it's completely ridiculous to need a product like that to protect from spur marks, no horse should have rubs from spurs full stop, if they do, you're using them wrong. Even horses with sensitive skin should be reactive enough off the leg to not need spurs, not need protecting because they're leaving obvious marks on their body ?

Omg ? you should see how loose it is, it's a horse sized flash on a cob sized head. You know they help with bit stability, too, my guy (to the anon)

Some people lack so much education to make valid observations it's unreal ?

Op on @jumpingfever for using a flash in Milo?

She knows her horse, I do not. Plus she's an extremely knowledgable equestrian and would never do anything to intentionally harm/make things difficult for her horses ♀️
