I'm living with this guy who has a daughter that shits on me all the time. He doesn't stop it. He just says it's a phase she's going through. I never went through that. Do you think I should just break up and move out?

You need to give him an ultimatum. Either he protects you, or it's over

I met this beautiful lady. We have fun. The only problem is she's a workaholic. I've pointed that out but she just says that's her. I'm having trouble deciding what to do .

Work can be an addiction and a nasty one. Just be careful

Is it true that an addict is always an addict? What does "in recovery" mean anyway?

In recovery means the person has gone through a process, 12 step or otherwise, and is maintaining sobriety. Unfortunately, the neurological pathways that create addiction will remain, so the person is always an addict ... but hopefully in recovery.

My new bf won't go with me to get tested for std's. He says we should trust each other. I'm not sure so I could use your opinion.

If he has nothing to hide, he should willingly go get tested. Can't be too safe in this day and age. You both will feel safer knowing there's nothing to stop you from going forward ... unless there is.

Can I get married at fifty with little?

Not sure what you mean by "little," but I'll assume you mean money for the sake of answering. The short answer is "yes," but it does make it harder

How do I get over the girl I broke up with. I keep going back and it’s not working and it’s not healthy either

Take a hard look at why you broke with her to begin with. That will give you the clue as to why it's unhealthy. Why would you put yourself through that. Love yourself enough to take care of yourself.

How can you tell if a guy likes you? I think this guy does but IDK.

Does he seem interested in everything you say and do? Do his eyes stay focused on you? Does he smile at you all the time? etc. etc. etc. Hello!!!!

My gf's twin and her pulled a fast one on me. They are really identical so the other one switched places. I feel really embarrassed. What do I do? I'm not mad though.

You got pranked. Just go along with it because there's really nothing you can do. Trust me, they are not the first set of twins to do this.

My gf wants to get a boob job. I love her just the way she is and I tell her that. She says I look at other girls more. How should I handle this? I don't want to make a mistake.

All you can do is keep telling her what you've told her. It's all coming from her, so there's very little you can do. She REALLY needs some professional help.

My gf gaslights me every time I point out something that bugs me. I'm getting tired of it. Any advice? I'm not perfect but neither is she.

All you can do is suggest some short-term therapy. That way there's an objective third person who is a professional that can help you two deal with it.

At what age is sleeping together ok. How come it's not ok at 19 but ok at 59? Makes no sense.

First, let's start with this. Who says it's not ok at 19? You're an adult after 18, so it's your decision to own. Stop listening to those who might judge you.

Me and my gf got really drunk with some friends. We were playing strip poker. We all took pics and posted them. Now she is saying it's my fault that I didn't stop her. Is that my responsibility? Did I screw up?

NO!! It is NOT your fault, and you did nothing wrong. It's not your job to control her. That's not what a bf is for. She's embarrassed and trying to put the blame on someone else. I call bullshit on her, and so should you.

My bf and me live 45 minutes apart. I'm old fashioned. I expect him to make the drive. He says it should be 50-50. What are the rules?

The rules are whatever the two of you decide. That's not a really long drive, so are you more interested in the "old fashioned ways", or are you more interested in him? You decide.

I'm not sure how to handle this. There are two guys I really like. They've both asked me out for the same night. I don't want to make a mistake. What do I do?

I suggest using our app, Love Shopping List, to see who scores higher, then go out with that one and politely decline the other.

My bf is bisexual. I don't have a problem with that except that the other guy is giving my bf a hard time about dating me. Do I say something to him or what? IDK

No, you shouldn't. That's a problem to be worked out between them. All that will happen if you interfere is you'll become a target. Don't go there.

I'm a senior in high school. I would really like to impress this girl on a first date. I just don't know what would impress her. I've asked her friends but they just say anything I want. That doesn't make any sense to me. How do I find out?

Ah, yes. The first date dilemma. Dinner and/or an "experience" such as a concert or sporting event usually work well.

We are considering moving in together. Someone said we should see a couples counselor first. Is that always necessary? Not everyone goes for counseling so I'm not sure if we should.

It's not always necessary. In fact, it's not necessary at all. But it is a good idea!! It will get you ahead of any potential problems.

Can you ever have sex with someone and then just be friends? I heard it doesn't work. So far it's working but we don't want to mess up our friendship.

Anything is possible. Sometimes friends with benefits works for two people. It sounds like it's working well for the two of you.

My bf's parents are kind of religious. We aren't. They want a church wedding but we don't. They will only help pay if we get married in a church. I think that sucks but we can't afford it on our own. My mom is single and can't help. Don't know what to do.

You are going to have to make a decision as to whether or not you want independence or not. As much as you would like a regular wedding, maybe the thing to do is get married at a courthouse and have a reception when you can afford it. Or just give in. I would opt for door #1

My gf says she's got an eating disorder. If I ask her about it she goes ballistic. I don't get it. Then why did she tell me in the first place?

Sometimes people just want others to know but not ask questions. She may have wanted to tell you but is too embarrassed to talk about it, so she covers it with anger.

There's this girl I really like but she's like bipolar. One minute she's in love with me and everything I do is great but the next minute I can't seem to do anything right. I'm really confused. My friends just tell me to walk away but I really like her a lot.

Since I have no background info, I would say to listen to your friends ... unless you enjoyed being emotionally abused. It's one thing to do it once, but if she keeps doing it, that's a pattern you should avoid at all costs.

Who should pay for what when you're first going out? I don't know what's the proper thing

Traditionalists will say it should be the guy. However, it depends on what the two people discuss. Also, it's usually the person doing the asking out, and in 2018 females often ask males out. There is no set rule

My gf has some friends that are "questionable". She says they can be trusted but IDK. Do I check them out or what? I'm worried for her.

If you're worried, then absolutely check them out. It's called due diligence and protecting her. There are lots of online services that will do this thoroughly

One of my other friends says me and my bf should get genetic testing to know if there are things that might cause severe problems. This seems kind of artificial. Do other couples do this? I'm kinda scared of what I might find out.

A lot of couples are getting genetic testing to try to make sure they aren't passing really severe things on. Two of my close friends lost their daughter to cystic fibrosis because they were both carriers for the disease.

This girl I like is dating another couple (yes, both of them). It's kind of kinky but it doesn't bother me. I'm in my early 20's so is this a good time to experiment?

Whatever works between consenting adults is fine. Yes, it's probably a good time to experiment. Certainly, not after you get involved in family life.
