I trust my abilities and my willpower, because if something is important to me, I do everything in my possibility to achieve a goal I have set for myself - I don't need other people to cheer on me or to believe in me, therefore. I know I can reach everything I put my heart and mind into.
And I am afraid to trust my instincts when it comes to other people. Because people say today one thing and tomorrow it will be different still. The ones I call friends and family are the ones because they've proven several times to me that what they say they also mean.

Idk for sure, but maybe he meant it like at the end of people's lives. Like we do decide after reading and finishing a book if it was a good one or not. Or like we review a new dish that we've tasted - after we finished the meal. So he probably thought the actions that we did as human beings decide how we were as human beings.

Yes, my school organized talent shows every summer, which I won every time I attended. Most of them were musicians some of them were actors. They also asked me frequently to sing something in the winter season on their stage.
I also attended fencing competitions but was never able to beat that one guy, he was not only fast, like me, but also strong. I always managed to receive my silver medal, tho. xD

Do you want to learn to swim or are you doing it for your parents? Because if you want it don't give up on it. Don't do it for the sake of others. There is no limit to learning new things that you are interested in.

That depends on the stressful situation. For e.g., if you are moving away it's always stressful but it has to be done. Make yourself good thoughts and try to be excited for the new place you are moving into. Or try to focus on the things that you need to carry safely into the car. Or listen to music while carrying heavy things. If you find yourself in an argument try to find out the intention of the argument because arguments are often caused by misunderstanding. But if the argument e.g. was brought up on purpose and the intention is to hurt you, try to distance yourself from the person mentally. Because the person wants the exact opposite and will probably be even angrier that you stay cool about something that the person tried so hard to make you angry or hurt about.

Ask them directly if they struggle with something currently and if that person wants to talk about it. I would offer to listen if that person wants my help, if not, I could just be there and try to cheer that person up by doing something to find some distraction from the problem.

You need to do a lot of self-reflection to understand which positive and negative aspects you bring to a relationship. I think human beings can't really be compared to others as everyone is unique and different. We may be similar in some aspects but very different in other aspects. We all have different types of experiences that shape us. So if someone loses me, he or she will never find me again in someone else. But maybe that's exactly what they want to and that's okay. I don't want people to stay by my side if they really don't want to. That will hurt us both.
