What videogames do you play on your PC? I don't know what to play... :/

I don't, sorry... console boy here :P

How do i get more knowledge about music? Thanks

Study hard, easy as that! Obviously that's not a simple thing, but if you've got a passion for learning the rest will come.

Have you ever played: "Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions"? What do you think of that videogame?

I haven't, but it's on the to do list! I actually really enjoyed The Amazing Spider-Man game that came out a few years back... but the new one is a serious let down, I'm getting my platinum trophy on it atm then it can go back on the shelf never to be opened again!

Hey do you believe that for a great guitar you need to spend a fortune on one? I have two of the cheapest from Ibanez and Jackson, Im 16 and dont have a job yet, and they do me just fine, I always hear people say 'lol your guitars are crap, they don't cost over £700 like mine' do you agree with this?

Do you sing bad? Do you sing o

I sing well enough to do BVs in a band, but not well enough to sing lead ;)

How important do you think it is to be able to sing to some level to help be that guy that gets the gig? Any advice for getting over that 'scared of you own voice' syndrome in the beginning?

If a guitar player is being hired for a band, chances are there will be a singer. The voice is an instrument. If you can sing, you're essentially twice as valuable to the band as you can provide harmonies. It really can't be stressed how much more appealing that makes you to a potential employer.
If I was hiring for a band and I had two equally talented players but one of them could provide vocal harmonies, he's getting the gig every time. He'd probably still get it even if he wasn't a world changing guitarist. Most bands don't need an Eddie Van Halen, so why not hire someone who can play the shit you need AND sing.
The secret to getting over the fear of your own voice? That's a tough one! Find some like minded people and practice with them. I was lucky in that I had 2 years of backing vocals classes so I don't shy away from it now. It's a skill that needs to be developed, to hear and sing the harmony without letting the lead pull you away. I actually really enjoyed working on BVs with my band (no instruments) and when MDing my fiance's vocal trio I wasn't so shy that we would wait if one of them was late, I'd step in and sing the alto part or whatever.
So yeah, focus on the rewards, why you're doing it etc.

Hi Levi! Some great answers on here, I really appreciate them! Could you give me any advice about how you got into writing articles for guitar magazines or websites? Did they approach you because of your transcribing or did you submit material to them yourself?

Hey David
It's actually been a combination of both. First up I submitted work to http://guitarinternational.com/ and ended up on there. Then from the transcriptions I was asked to help out with some Guitar Techniques stuff. I was then head hunted by both http://live4guitar.com/ and as a transcriber for http://www.iguitarmag.com/ but that soon turned into a writing gig as well.
The last thing on my CV is the Premier Guitar gig, that was one I actually submitted for a long time ago and then they eventually gave me a call when they wanted something, so it does pay to submit work.
I did go through a period of keeping up to date with staff at various magazines with the intention of submitting samples etc but I'm just busy with other stuff. It's absolutely a valid way to find work though.

What's your favourite thing about being a musician?

Not having to have a "proper" job! haha
In all seriousness though, it has to be that I make a good living bringing joy to others. It blows me away that people actually give two shits about what I have to say and what I do. If I was working as a bus driver or whatever... I don't think I'd feel as fulfilled in what I did.

Favorite unknown guitarists?

Define unknown.
You want to go virtually unknown then probably my buddy Tom Monda who plays in Thank You Scientist and is also one hell of a trad jazz and bop player in NJ.
You want to go "known but not properly" then it would have to be Danny Gatton. I know people know the name, have seen the hot licks videos and may have even heard Cruisin' Deuces... but the amount of people who have actually heard him in the Redneck Jazz band (with Buddy Emmons!) or on the New York Stories record is criminally low.

Thoughts on elixir strings? Do you think the 'coated' goodness is worth the money or is it a myth? What are you favourite strings otherwise? Ever tried flatwounsd on an electric? I'm tempted to but can't justify their cost...haha. Thanks man

I don't dig elixir. They definitely last a lot longer, but I don't like the way they feel under my fingers. Coated strings really aren't for me.
As for flat wounds, they really aren't good for rock and blues, too fat, no high end. I have them on my jazz box, but they're just not right with any sort of drive to my ears (you'd think they'd work well on fretless... But nope)

I can't live without my guitar, my guitar is like a friend to me, she's my best friend, every free time i have i spend with my guitar, when i'm sad i'm gonna play my guitar, even sometimes i found myself talking to my guitar.....is this normal? xD

Totally! I'm really luck in that she's my best friend and my provider! So even when the mrs nags me to stop playing I remind her that it buys her all the shit she wants :P

Thought I should ask this very important question... What's your favourite sandwich and why? (-;

Roast chicken and peanut butter.... I have no idea why... but I could eat that every day!

Do you answer all the questions sent to you ?

I answer about 95% of them. If it has a question mark at the end of it (ie. it's not a statement) then I'm honored someone took the time to write to me, the least I can do is write back :)
