Hi Levi, How are you? I'm a 16 year old guy and i play guitar for about 3-4 years. I can already play some nice Heavy Metal and Punk riffs and 2 or 3 basic scales and some basic solos, and i think it's time to improve my guitar playing. I have relatively small hands and find it insanely hard to do stretches on tracks like 'Tornado of Souls' on the solo parts. Is approaching it from a tapping sense cheapening the music as it doesn't have the same attack as the normal pick approach involved crossing strings?

Ok. You got me, you have really have me curious about the CAGED system. Any good resources? My main concern is how some people say it's limited to major sounds and chord shapes instead of usable arps. You use it well, any tips on using the system for note targeting when soloing over chord changes?

Do you change your technique if you're playing clean or with distortion? Eg if you were playing some Andy Wood style country licks (no chicken just alternate) or Paul Gilbert shred would you pick the same? If not what would be the difference? Thank you
