where have you worked other than fc?

youngliving uk
low farm bassingbourn
stutley equestrian
addenbrookes
tesco
I think that's it

do you have a horse atm/ride?

No, i've given up riding. Apart from the odd ride at work, which is rare atm, I don't ride at all. It doesn't interest me anymore. I have new 'hobbies' now. Working with horses just ruined it for me tbh

do you still ride? or likehave lesssons?

Nope and nope, I'm still working at fc but when I leave (probs when I go to uni) I doubt i'll ever ride again.. I'll always have a love for horses but not for riding/owning

will you ever go back to ride at lovely view stables?

I hope so, just situations aren't great right now but I would like to go back soon

I know exactly what you mean, that's exactly how I feel. I always said I don't want my hobby as my job and that's exactly what happened, it's sad really in a way :/ x

It's tough! People always say ''do what you love and you'll never work a day'' but you deffo work in an equine job! I'm always so tired when I finish at 5 so even if I had something to ride I wouldn't want to, I just want to go home and sleep!!
Hopefully one day I'll 'find' my passion for horses again but right now it's pretty dead haha x

are you still into horses??

Not really..
I should never have got a job with horses because it has KILLED my passion. It's no longer a HOBBY its a CHORE!!
I'm trying to distance myself now as I used to live and breathe horses and I miss that.
I've not had a lesson for 4-6 weeks (can't remember exactly) and I really miss that but I feel like I was having lessons with no endpoint? I had nothing to gain? My confidence is not what it used to be. I won't jump as much anymore and i'm more cautious? Whether that's me growing up or what I don't know..
I'm not sharing anymore and highly doubt I will be ever again..
I've applied for some waitress/bar work so probably won't work with horses for much longer either.
I'm going to uni next september and then getting a job in the NHS so I won't have time for my own for a few years..

Is horse-riding a sport?

no
but
dressage, show jumping, cross country, racing, polo and whatever else are
hacking is not neither is just schooling or jumping for no reason
a sport is something you train and compete in

Should riding school horses all be snaffle mouthed

In theory yes
but
in reality it can be hard to find horse which are talented and well behaved to be school horses and be snaffle mouthed. Also i'd much rather 'pull' once in a gag ect than 10 times in a snaffle
but
i do think all school horses should be capable of being snaffle mouthed

Where do people at your yard come from like regions? Do they travel far or are they locals

Well they don't all live in the same place..
We have people from bedfordshire - potton/biggleswade area
Cambridgeshire - cambrourne, bourne, toft
hertforshire - royston, bassingbourn, mordens, stevenage, hitchin
Essex - saffron waldon
literally come from everywhere haha

Thoughts about people who say gcse dont matter?

Depends on what you want to do but generally they do matter
most employers will want at least a C in maths&english
You need 5/7C 's to do A-levels and to get into university
so if you want to work in tesco no they don't matter but if you want to go to college then they do :)

HD brows yay or nay?

For me personally? No, My brows are fairly good and easy to do. They're quite thick but not unruly so I just get them threaded every 6-8weeks and use clear brow gel when they start growing out and occasionally fill them in if the shapes been lost.
But they look good on others I just don;t need them :)

Do you still ride?

Why do people keep asking me this??
YES I STILL RIDE!!!!
I've ridden almost everyday this week,
I ride the horses at work every Saturday,
occasionally have a lesson on a sunday - roughly every 2 weeks or so
and then when people go on holiday I ride for them :)
also looking at a 'share' next week

What's your favorite music genre?

I listen to everything from old school rock to pop to rap to house to country literally everything but screemo or anything like screemo

Hacking or schooling or jumping?

I actually can't choose just one!
I LOVE hacking because it's just so chill and there's so much to explore plus you can school on hacks and I used to a lot with buster because he was more forward out on hacks than in the school and if you're lucky you can jump logs (and straw ).
I find schooling really rewarding like there's so much to do and when a horse performs a specific movement or does something perfect you just feel amazing and so proud (well i do)
And jumping is fun and I like the 'thrill' of it like just 'flying' for that short time and the trust you need and yeah

Do you have a lot of stubble where you are?

TONS! The YO owns most of the land too so we know that we're allowed to ride of (deffo check with your farmers) They also cut each field on different weeks so we get a good 4-6weeks of stubble and last year the last field was left until the end of september until they plowed over!! The fields mainly connect without a ditch, normally just a grassy verge so you can have a really long stretch to canter on which is lovely.

Do you canter/jump/gallop on stubble or is it too hard??

yeah grain stubble is really soft, still have to watch the ground underneath it. Rape stubble is much harder so it's probably up to you to decide if it's too hard or not.
I cantered/galloped this afternoon on the stubble and jumped the straw trails which were a stride- 2 strides apart and the horses were fine! It's so much fun but make sure you walk across it occasionally if you think your horse will gallop everytime they step onto stubble :)
