Where is Hanji from?

There's a theory in the fandom that she's French but I have no idea where this came from.
I always thought her name sounded Japanese so she could be of Asian descent but obviously Mikasa is the only character in the series like that and there's a lot of emphasis on that so it rules that out.
Zoe is a name of Greek and English origin though

Why is it a problem if more people dress as that character?

I like to be noticed when I cosplay so it's kind of a bummer if 50 other people are dressed like you and most of them have a better costume

Aren't you cosplaying anyone from Attack On Titan?

I really wanted to go as Hanji or Sasha but from the amount of people who were cosplaying as characters from snk last year my costume probably wouldn't stand out + I literally do not have any money or time to get hold of the 3DMG prop
I don't think that many people will be cosplaying as characters from Free! and if they do they'll probably go as Rin or Haru
I'm probably going to go as Hanji for the York comic con in August because it's the first one and u'll probably show everyone up because i'm an egotistical little shit

There's a photo of me when I was about 5 and I have no idea what drugs my mum had been snorting but she'd dressed me in white cropped trousers and a white top with bright yellow sandals

I think like 99% of my year group from school knows a lot about me because when I was in hospital my head of house thought it'd be a good idea to announce it to my form group and the form group that we shared the building with and obviously everyone lost their shit about it
