Ask @Nayerru:

Who is your favorite teacher?

I had a teacher back in middle school who was my favorite teacher ever. Her son was in my class and we were really good friends, her daughter was a few grades below us both and she was such a sweetheart. I remember that I had to stay after testing one day and I was so upset about it because I had made a horrible grade and I usually never made anything less than an A or a B but she was so supportive of me and she consoled me through it and she actually ended up taking me home herself rather than making my dad drive back out to pick me up which was really kind of her.

What does your last text message say?

It wasn't my last but this exchange still comes to mind whenever I think about texting.
I had just shown my friend a picture of a deer I got at this nature center I visited and I said that I love deer.
This is pretty much how the texts went:
Him: "You could say they're deer to your heart."
Me: "That was very... fawny."
And then a lot of laughing followed after. LOL.

What advice would you give to someone that is trying to stay positive through whatever they're going through?

Jacob
There is so much I would love to say to them! Honestly, I love when people come to me and ask for advice as to how to remain positive through a difficult time, here are a few pieces of advice and also some words of reassurement I would have to offer.
The main thing that I remember when I'm going through something difficult is that I would never be faced with more than I can handle so that gives me the courage and the strength to continue going on and depending upon if they're religious or not because I personally am but I won't say it unless I know that they are as well, but God gives His toughest battles to His strongest soldiers and I try to remember that as well.
I've noticed that when people come to me and tell me about something that is troubling them, they tend to feel better once they've gotten it off of their chest so I would also recommend doing that - talk to someone that you trust and you can just ask them to listen or you can ask them to offer advice if you'd like them to because I know that sometimes, all we want is someone to listen instead of offering us solutions.
I read something recently about fearing change and a bit of it could also apply to this, think of it like this - you have a little safety guy with you at all times and he doesn't want you to go out of your comfort zone or try to change because he finds the known to be much safer than the unknown - it's a safety mechanism that can be overridden. The reason I believe it could apply to this is because you can make an active choice to remain positive through what you may be going through and it can be scary to change your train of thought because like I said, your little safety guy doesn't want you to change and he's trying to do it to keep you safe. When you do realize this and you may still have those intrusive negative thoughts, you will notice them, process them, and be able to let them go without fear.
Focus on what makes you happy! Draw, sing, dance, write, do what makes you happy and brings you peace. If you focus on things that make you happy, it will help tremendously. It doesn't even have to be anything that you have to do, you can watch videos of cute dogs if that makes you happy! I promise it helps.
There is so much more I would just love to say but I'll leave you with this right now! <3

You may have ways of remaining positive, but how do you control any negativity that impacts you?

Jacob
Honestly, negativity still does get to me - I'm not going to sit here and act like I'm this person who can take anything and everything that comes her way with ease. Usually, if something that is done or said hurts me, I allow myself to be sad and get my emotions out and then I try to focus on nice things and I distract myself, that's pretty much what I do.

Do you think that marriage is still important in society?

Jacob
I'll go ahead and use a quote from the man himself.
"Rituals are important. Nowadays it’s hip not to be married. I’m not interested in being hip." - John Lennon
I just wanted to add that because it's John Lennon.
I believe that marriage is important because it shows your commitment. People often say that it's just a piece of paper and shouldn't make a difference but marriage is far more than a piece of paper, marriage is a lifetime commitment so I do believe it's important.

Have you ever given up on someone? Why?

There have been instances where, let's say I've done all I can to help a certain person who needed it but I still see no change in their behavior after I've given them ideas and recommendations on how to improve whatever they needed help on, I've had to step back and really think about whether or not it's truly benefitting them for me to help - I don't necessarily think about whether or not it's truly benefitting me to help them because that isn't what I think about when it comes to giving advice or whatever it may be, I don't expect anything out of helping people so it's moreso entirely about them. If I do notice that they are just not putting forth any effort, then yes, I will step back and stop helping because although helping others may not be for my benefit, I still don't want my time to be wasted because this is how I think about it: there can be someone else out there who needs my help and who is far more willing to receive it than the person I would be helping at that very moment who isn't so willing to receive it. This turned into a total rant post, whoopsies. Oh well, this is my answer anyways! n///n

What do you want to achieve in your life?

I hope to own a ranch when I'm older as well as my own business, and of course, start a family of my own when it comes time. I hope to help the less fortunate in some way and motivate as many people as I possibly can.
The fun part about life is not knowing, it can also be scary but it depends on how you want to look at it. I can't wait to see how life turns out for me in the long run, yay!
