Have you ever done something stupid to try to fix something else but the fix you did was redundant? Once I didn't want to taste the fishyness of a fishoil tablet so I put it inside a strawberry and swallowed it O.O didn't consider that the strawberry is massive. Lol was nasty swallowing that

I try my best to analyze the solution as being viable. Sometimes, pure laziness eliminates bad solutions. I wouldn't bother with a strawberry since it would require me to obtain one.

One of the closest people to you has depression and bipolar. These things, if left untreated can/is having a devastating affect on both them and the people around them. However, they refuse to acknowledge that there is anything wrong with them, and don't do anything about it. What would you do?

Strongly encourage him to seek help. If necessary, I might offer an ultimatum
"If you don't seek help, I can no longer spend time with you or take your calls."

Why don't animals laugh, smile or cry?

Animals express emotions. They don't have the same physiology as we do so their emotions are going to be shown differently. Just go to youtube and watch a video of a soldier returning home and how his/her dog reacts to the soldier's return. That is pure joy.
Who makes up these Q's of the day?

What's your favorite city out of all the cities you have visited and why? This question isn't asking about the city in which you currently live. Thanks! :) I may have already asked this before, but I can't remember.

Probably Austin, TX. A good music scene, good BBQ, a lively culture and warm weather.

At what point in life do you think people are probably at their happiest? Why?

For men, right after he finishes the sexy time.
Ok, in general I'd say when a person graduates college (or H.S. if they don't want college). They have finished a youthful goal and not yet entered the working world. Once they do, they suddenly realize how boring and crappy it is to work for a living....for the next 40+ years. Ugh.

Why does it hurt so much breaking up with someone you have had children with and have been with for so long, even if you are not in love with them anymore?

Because you have formed an emotional bond to that person. Even though the bond is no more, there are still the memories of it. There is also a bit of the anxiety of venturing into the unknown future alone.

Inspired by Aradia: Do you think I would make a good man? Do you think you would be good as the opposite gender?

If you would have the same social problems that you do as a woman, but as a man, you would have a difficult time being a man. Women are more likely to be given a free pass or understanding for their negative feelings and behaviors. Men don't get that. We are told to "man-up" or "get a job" or "deal with it."

Hahaha! It was funny the way you put 'they' in parenthesis. What do you think patriarchy is? And what do you think 3rd wave feminists think it is? Hi, Neo! :p

ThomasGWS’s Profile PhotoThomas
I have no idea what the patriarchy is. And if you ask someone to explicitly define it, there will be confusing then something about "evil men" or some such.

Gsers:: Do you think you are a bad or good person? and why? *waves* :3

Blood_Apocalypse’s Profile Photo♡ Sienna ♡
I suppose I float along the line between being a good and bad person. Most of the time I stay on the good side but occasionally drift over to being bad.

Is this a great big lie - You can be anything you want to be?

thecasualfanrises’s Profile Photocasual fan
It is mis-direction. If it was true, then anyone could (with effort) become President, a starting NFL Quarterback, or a CEO of a billion dollar company. One can set their goal at 100% (An NFL QB). Let's say the person only makes 80% of that goal and ends up as an offensive coordinator for a college team. That is still a good objective.

In your opinion, can perfectionism be advantageous? Can a perfectionist's attitude guide him/her to what he/she wants or does it just cause distraction and stress?

hilolhibye’s Profile Photosarah suarez
It usually serves as more of a hindrance taking too much time for something to be "just right" when "acceptable" works just fine.

Should you take as much as you want or can get? Or should you set limits and accept only what you think you deserve? Give a reason for your answer.

hilolhibye’s Profile Photosarah suarez
One should earn everything they have. Taking something means another suffers a loss. I don't much care for it when someone says something about "Deserving something." How about earning it?

Wash your hands and face with soap constantly. And never touch your face with dirty hands. This is how germs transfer and you catch colds. Carry some handwash with you. This way you will be able to stay healthy this flu season. :)

thecasualfanrises’s Profile Photocasual fan
ok. I still got sick and I wash my hands often.

I am opposed to the death penalty, but given that it does exists, should it be used in cases of egregious financial and public corruption? E.g., Bernie Madoff and the Judge in the Kids for Cash scandal. I think people like that do exponentially more harm than even the most notorious murderer.

JessePinkmanGS’s Profile PhotoGrackles Know Your Real Name
It shouldn't be used for other crimes. With murder, there is no coming back. No chance of recovery. Let's say you were going to be the victim of a crime and had two choices: Be murdered or lose all your money. Which is worse?

How much were the '50s really like the idealized version later dreamt of on Happy Days or Grease?

Those shows never showed things like the racism and segregation that was happening at the time.
