For buying a pendulum, since I live near a spiritual/metaphysical/crystal shop, they sell pendulums. They had quite a large variety, and trying to find the one you most connect is severly important! To do this, I find just touching each pendulum and feeling the kind of vibe they carry. Does any pendulum give you a certain buzz of some sort? Also looking at the type of pendulum you buy and which crystal is used to create it is also important ~ It's good to have a phone in hand to look up what spiritual properties the crystal point may have (Unless the pendulum is brass).

Eg. for me, I bought an amethyst crystal pendulum. I found this information for Amethyst: In the psychic and spiritual realms, amethyst is an excellent all-purpose stone that can increase spirituality and enhance intuition and psychic powers of all kinds. If you do not happen to be close to a crystal shop, that's ok :) Online bought is also good, but it's good to get some recommendations where you buy it from (eg. I love buying any crystals from http://theopaque.storenvy.com/, which is currently under construction for the next update. The owner Taneisa is absolutely lovely!! They ship worldwide, and I'm sure she'd love for you to pop an email to her asking if there will be any pendulum's in her next update :))

I find that discovering more about your pendulum first is such an extremely helpful way to build up a bond and relationship with your pendulum. I thought to myself when I first got my pendulum that she must have a name and some kind of masculine/feminine presence if crystals also have them. And that there must be another guide somewhere helping me out instead of just Aphrodite (my mama)

Anywayyy I discovered this over the course of doing a pendulum reading with my pendulum for four hours straight (I had a lot of time on my hands that night). Her (Yes, she is feminine) name is Elwodri :) Some I found to be very neat because when I looked up the name 'Elwood', it came up with the meaning elder tree forest, and then when I looked up 'Ri' it came up with the star of the sea. I'm pretty sure Elwodri is a pretty balanced as pendulum!!

To discover your pendulum names, you need to ask a heap of questions. First as how many letters there are (eg, begin with saying is there 5-10 letters in your name, more then 10 etc. until you reach a specific number that he/she says yes to. Then start asking what the first letter is. Does the first letter range from A-G, H-N etc. until you reach a specific letter, do the same thing for the second letter, third letter etc.)

Being Mermaidkin I've kind of just always known. I've just had a fascination with mermaids, the ocean, swimming and marine type things for as long as I can remember. My dad likes to think I'm a 'born natural swimmer' since he trusted me to swim in the deep end of a pool at the age of two years. And I loved loved loved the deep end, swimming down with my legs together because it felt natural for me to do so.
My dad tried to get me into competitive swimming actually, but I absolutely hated it. I hated that I had to do specific techniques like freestyle or backstroke for practices. Swimming to me isn't about doing 10,000 laps up and down a pool, it's meant to make you feel free, it's meant to let you relish the movement of gliding at your own pace through the water without someone hovering over you saying that your arms aren't in the right angle for freestyle or whatever. And I hate chlorine, so that was the end of my dad's Olympian star swimmer dreams.

Anywayy moving to New Zealand also triggered something inside me. Back in the U.S, I lived about three hours away from the beach, where as when I moved I was literally a two minute walk. I spent most of my time at the beach, playing in the sand and in the salt water river (my mother was always scared that if I actually went into the ocean waves without her supervision, a rip would carry me away which I didn't technically mind but still).

I felt like a mermaid through all my years, but I didn't actually thirst for a physical tail until I was 10 and that's when the spells and shifting entered my life! When I discovered the term 'Mermaidkin,' I knew that was who I was, something I could finally 'label' myself as. Of course as I progressed with this notion of being Mermaidkin, I did readings, PLR's and meditations for all to be confirmed.

Being a Mermaid is still me, it is me. I am a Mermaid, even though I don't have a physical mermaid tail yet doesn't mean I'm any less of a Mermaid when I do gain my physical tail <3
