What do you think I should write a post on next?

emperor_j’s Profile PhotoEmperor J
I didn't actually expect this to be as tough to answer as it is. I probably shouldn't have sprung it on you like that.
3 suggestions I guess:
1. Not sure if you have done this, but since you have seen most of them, maybe a comparison of Key visual novel adaptations and which ones are in general worth watching.
2. Pick an anime in your MAL that you gave an 8 or 7 and justify why you didn't give it more or less? (I think most of the 9's are in your top anime post already.)
3. You could write an out of context post on a currently running series like say Aldnoah Zero. I was considering doing this as well (just ask someone who is watching it for the least sensible episode and rolling with that).

How did you feel when you woke up?

Today? I uhh felt reasonable. For some reason, I woke up at 5 something and stayed in bed till 7 something unable to fall back sleep. Now, unfortunately, I am feeling sleepy, but I must stay awake and push through and watch classy anime (World Break) with classy people!

If you were to go on a date with an anime character on Valentine's day, thinking realistically-(ish), with whom would you have the most enjoyable date?

Tough question. I think I am going to have to say Tsukamoto Yakumo from School Rumble. Sure, she isn't super weird, loud or even into that many interesting things, but I think we'd have a really nice date due to her very amiable, easy going personality (though it might get a bit annoying if her sister keeps coming up in conversation).
Another interesting one would be Kanna from Tamako Market. I'd ask her to help me make a heart shaped box out of wood and she'd struggle because irregular shapes like hearts are hard to make with a ruler. Seeing her struggle would be cute.

Who did you inspire?

I don't think I have inspired anyone. There was this one time where I was just walking around my Uncle's house and a kid (of their guests for the evening) came up to me and told me I was very cool. Maybe that counts?

What's something nice that you did today, and something mean that you did today?

Mean: I sort of abandoned my group and left a lot of our report to the others.
Good: By abandoning them, I got ~9 hours of sleep. So, I was nice to myself.

What's your favorite video game?

Tough question. Probably something like Resident Evil 4, or Bioshock 1. I am also a really big fan of certain Indie titles like VVVVV.

What are you terrible at?

Drawing. Music. Running. Sports. Talking to people. Math. Doing work. Gaming. Blogging. Watching anime. Basically everything you could think of. :)

If you were to marry, would your spouse need to be an anime fan? Or at the very least enjoy anime?

Haha, did you by any chance just read Day's now infamous post? (https://gargarstegosaurus.wordpress.com/2015/02/03/dont-date-an-anime-fan-if-you-are-an-anime-fan/)
Anyway, to answer your question, I don't think my spouse would need to be an anime fan, but it would be nice if they at least enjoyed or were up for some anime though I could probably live even without that requirement as long as they weren't upset with me watching stuff all day.
I think a good number of anime fans sometimes forget that not being an anime fan does not make you a hater of anime. It might just mean they haven't bothered watching anything, so you could still show them shows with near universal appeal (Tonari-no Seki-kun for example).

How will you celebrate your next birthday?

Who knows. It is 1 year minus 3 days away. I will probably do what I have always done and just watch anime/do work or school and if it is a weekend, my family might take me to dinner.

I know this is way too old, but what are your thoughts/opinions on this? http://www.theguardian.com/gall/0,8542,1211872,00.html

I vaguely recall seeing this many years back, so I had to go look it back up again. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abu_Ghraib_torture_and_prisoner_abuse
Pretty terrible stuff made even worse because some people said "they are the enemy, so don't worry about what happens to them". According to that wiki article, many soldiers were tried for their crimes, but others did go free and I think it is implied that there was other bad stuff going on and the images for it were never released.
So, I don't mean to sound a bit mean about this, but when folk say "The _____ should appreciate everything our soldiers do for them", shit like this is probably at least a part of why those folk don't appreciate American intervention all that much(there were apparently plenty of rumors in Iraq that this kind of torture was going on).
And you know, it would be nice if this was an isolated incident and perhaps this was the only case of something this horrid and sadistic (who tortures people like that only to take photos with your thumbs up?), but the torture didn't stop here. The recent CIA report released last year demonstrated that up until recently, they were still torturing people. Combine that with how little public information is actually disclosed (both in that report and perhaps in general) and you quickly start getting suspicious.
Sure, sitting here in our comfy seats we might claim that this is only indicative that a very small part of the military or US personnel in general do this, but those folk in those countries who are already feeling iffy about the West are only going to get angrier and anti-west sentiment will only grow stronger and attacks by terrorist groups will only become more frequent.
Contrary to what the politicians think though, hiding stuff like this won't stop anti-US sentiment. I am pretty sure the citizens near any such prison would hear rumors or see bad things for themselves, so they'd still be pissed. Hiding might only stifle anti-government or anti-military sentiment in the US itself and that hatred will explode when stuff comes to light (as we have seen far too often).
tl;dr: Proper reports should be conducted into all military/intelligence operations overseas and these reports should be completely disclosed to the public. Serious effort should be made to make sure shit like this doesn't happen and that when it does, all of the perpetrators should be punished severely.
(Note: In the above I make the assumption that this was all caused by a large number of psycho militants. I'd rather try and keep my faith in humans and pretend this wasn't actively encouraged across the board, but I may very well be wrong in believing that.)

Who is your favorite author?

Gen Urobuchi...just kidding. I don't know, since I haven't read that many books, but maybe John Kennedy Toole since I really like A Confederacy of Dunces

How do you pronounce your username?

I am not actually sure. It was a name a friend came up with for me a long time back and neither of us remember its origin. In my head, I always pronounce it RAI - SENG. Some folk pronounce it more akin to Rising. I don't really mind much either way.

What do you think about recycling?

I think it is something everyone should do and it should be made as easy to do as possible (though if possible, please reuse before you recycle). That said, I believe the recycling process itself (like how the recycling plants operate) could still be improved, but I know very little to know about this field.
In conclusion: RECYCLE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. And if possible, make it as easy for others to do so as well (e.g. if you own an apartment complex, add garbage chutes for recycling as well as ordinary garbage for example. If you have a say in municipal services, try and increase the number of goods that can be thrown into household blue bins and so on and so on).

What freaks you out?

The natural, feral human condition and our tendency to destroy everything we love. Just kidding. I am scared of some bugs.

How would you do on a song competition show?

I'd win because hearing me sing will likely knock everyone out cold (I am that bad).

What's the weirdest item of clothing you own?

Probably my anime hat? (It has a # button on it to represent anger and something resembling animal ears).

Are you a leader or a follower?

Probably more of a follower, but really I am just a dead weight who'd rather sit and ooze in a corner undisturbed.

Do you like Coke or Pepsi? Why?

I haven't drunk either for a very long time. Don't remember the taste all that well anymore.

What do you order at Starbucks?

What a corporate friendly question. I generally order a medium coffee with cream (sometimes blond, sometimes dark). I do like those Frappuccinos, but they are too expensive/bad for you, so I rarely get them. It is unfortunate, I don't really like Starbucks regular coffee that much and only actually like their "special" drinks but those are too expensive to get often.
