Be honest, have you ever just sat back and realised you're not anybody's favourite person, you're just kinda there, and just thought 'f*ck it, I'll chill alone' 🤷♂️?
That is literally how I feel this year at uni! 😭 My business peers and I haven't fully bonded, yet, but I am familiar with most people in my scholarship class? Only because I was here last year when I studied music, so thank goodness- But even so, I don't belong to a particular 'circle'.. I drift between everyone.
I owe my love and passion for reading and writing to my 5th grade english teacher!!!!!! I always wonder how she is. She was a very sweet but strict lady that oozed with creativity, and I wanted to be just like her when I grew up.... She taught me how to harness my 7 different handwriting styles, she taught me how to spell properly (since English isn't my first language), she got me hooked on reading books/literature, and she was also the only teacher who really cared about me.. I'll be sure to tell her how thankful I am one day x
An excerpt is from an original song I wrote called "Goodbye", based on the last long-distance relationship I had that almost killed me from the inside out ..."Been shackled in your chains and you swallowed the key Since May, 2015, I’ve been strung on your leash Been waiting like the good girl that you want me to be Months turned into years, you still don’t want to see me? I tried to cut these ties a couple hundred of times Because I’m insecure and think that you’re creeping behind Told you from the start I wasn’t into no games Knowing the distance and the secrecy is half of the blame."
There's a lot to unpack here. I've made many mistakes, and learned just as many valuable lessons. The ultimate lesson I learned is to always stay true and be true to myself x
I went to G1 at uni and had coffee with my old music lecturers yesterday, It was such a nostalgic walk down memory-lane! I truly miss the music department.. and I hold on tight to the precious memories and achievements made there. I also spoke to my business lecturers and finally got accepted into the Māori scholarship programme 🥳✨
How do you usually react, when somebody is shouting at you?
I don't stoop to their level or give in to the foolery. I simply stay calm and kindly ask them to talk to me, not at me. We can resolve this like grown adults x
I really want to learn Mandarin!! I heard that it's very similar to te reo Māori, which is the indigenous language of New zealand- I remember hosting this cultural function for these Japanese exchange students and they had this Māori interpreter who translated for them in Mandarin, she told us that being fluent in te reo Māori helped her pick up the language fast 😁
