In baseball? Not at all. Good team, great coaches with Anderson, Rago, Parker
Absolutely....this is a team with championship aspirations...
Manteca is terrific, and so is VDL with Andrew Schantz and company. We wrote about VDL baseball in today's SacBee notes...

Too early to tell but with Matt Jimison back at QB...that's a team that could compete for D-III title again...
Sanity seeped in and took a break from being called every vile thing in the book!
We don't have anything to do with the River Cats pick, but the top overall athletes include Alex Van Dyke, Nifae Lealao, among others (and leading candidates for All-City Preps Athletes of the Year with show becoming Sacramento Bee HS Sports Show in August)
Preseason SacBee Top 10 could look something like (not official so don't throw your mouth pieces)
1. Folsom
2. Elk Grove
3. Grant
4. Franklin
5. Del Oro
6. Oak Ridge
7. Jesuit
8. Granite Bay
9. Rocklin
10. Cosumnes Oaks
11. Pleasant Grove
12. Sacramento
13. Placer
13. Yuba City
14. CBS
15. Rio Linda
Cordova has amazing tradition but it has to get more numbers out for football to compete. The first step is producing a winning record
Big time legit with two 3-0 wins over Jesuit.
Noah Blackwell's frustration means he's a competitor, and he wanted to be on one those teams. He understands that a cut-off for All-Metro teams - a tie-breaker of sorts - is teams who go to the playoffs and have success in the playoffs get those All-Metro team nods. Woodcreek just missed out. He'll come back better than ever next season. And there's this - with 100 schools in our area, getting any sort of All-Metro honor is just that - an honor.
