do you think you yourself is independent enough not to accept help from others ?? even for the simplest thing, can you do it yourself without asking for help ?? #randomquestionihavebeenaskingaround
Sorry for the late reply wkwk, I haven't been on ask.fm for as long as I can remember 😂
Honestly, all my life, I have always been more of a receiver than a giver. I will be forever indebted to everyone : my parents, teachers, friends for , and many beautiful strangers (e.g. farmers who have toiled themselves to feed my (big) belly). If your definition of independence means not needing the support of all those people, then people who call themselves 'independent' are total bullshit. Anw, the few things I can do myself mostly revolve around academics only. As long as I pay attention during class, i usually dont need much help with the HW. as for the daily chores, I think im a pretty decent daughter. I wash dishes, mop floors (very rarely tho), and help with the cooking (trust me when i say that my mac n cheese is real good ✌). So, do u think I am being independent enough?😂
.. and he also wrote a book called "So Good They Can't Ignore You" which pretty much elaborates his arguments why passion is no such thing.
Please note that when I was writing that blog, I was in a delusive state where I thought I was passionate about a lot of things, when apparently I wasnt. I mistook my spirit of learning as passion, and that, i realized, falsely led me to believe that I actually 'loved' sth, when in fact I wasnt even entirely sure if I loved the subject as much as I loved Zac Efron ✌. Anw, my point is that keep your head cool so that you can recognize which emotion is at work : is it really your true passion, or is it simply an energetic 'feeling' caused by being introduced to new stuffs, NOT drawing a line that separates your emotions from your work entirely, bcs that way, you will become sb with a colorless life. No passion, for sure. Dont overuse your emotions, but dont exclude them from your life entirely.
Hi! I've just read your (not so) recent blogpost about head over heart, and i liked the point where you said sth about "fuck passion" (apologies, im bad at paraphrasing). I think you should read this blog called Study Hacks (calnewport.com), there he stated sth about why passion is bullcrap etc
Hi there! Oh okay.. thanks for the input!! and thanks for reading my blog too! I appreciate that 😊😊 But dont bother taking the contents of my article to heart, afterall they are only some opinions of a 17yo who hasnt even started 'life' yet. Anw, the way I composed the "Head Over Heart" article might give off the impression that I abhor the "Passion is the First Step to Success" campaign that adults around us seem to be heavily promoting, but honestly tho, I myself am still ambivalent about my stance on how un- or important passion is. What i know is that in the short term, you might be able to fuck passion and will yourself to do what you THINK you have to do (in other words, my advice doesnt work long term). But to be the last man standing tho , i think you might have to find your passion and stick to it hehehe
keep your head up cici shelly, we all know you can get through this uni kind of thing!
Thankksss yahh!! 😊😊
Should this be the first question? How bout describing your criteria of an ideal man of yours?
I am not sure. I dont really think about these stuffs (at least not anymore). Now i only have some vague perception of how ideal my boyfriend should be, there is no specific criteria, much less a list. I favor smart and thoughtful (=understanding) guys, but if there is anyone who can (emotionally and in any other respect) be on sync with me, then he is the one.

have you considered about applying to uni of indon?heard that they have good econ major there, with many notable alumnus (ministers, ceo, etc)
i did consider applying to some domestic unis, but then again studying abroad has always been one of my goals. Considering that the years I spend in university might be the prime time of my life, I want it to spend it in the right place, and with the right people. Actually, it all comes down to your personal preference. haha. I have spent a good 17 years here and I am looking forward to a different, more vibrant kind of life. hey, don't get me wrong, bcs I don't think unis here are bad. it's just that I want sth else?
wah goodluck deh cici! pasti bisa kok, cici kan pinterrr :( tidak seperti saya :( kenapa lbi prefer hkust or smu drpd ntu nus? hanya karena kemungkinan masuknya kah?
tengkiu dek.. ga lah lo aja yg ga tau gue sbnrnya bodo n males wkwk hm ga kok. aku jg liat programs, facilities dan reputation dri hkust dan smu. hkust offers a broader and more diverse range of programs drpda smu, ntu dan nus. kyk thn ini ada yg namanya global business, risk management, business intelligence (klo ga salah ya), dll. ya some ppl say keren sih, tpi kalo take the nature of the competition there into consideration, rasanya jadi gak berminat ke hkust (ada yg blg it stands for Hong Kong University of Stress and Tension wkwkw). kalo smu program nya gak gitu bnyk, soalnya the uni masih relatively new. but considering its reputation (its a public uni, so once u graduate, its easier to find a job, bcs rumours have it that companies are more attracted to graduates from public unis (ntu nus smu sutd) than from private ones) and again, its programs, smu jg bgs. utk ntu dan nus.. yg famous tu program bisnis nya sih. tpi rarely heard di sini, krna katanya jurusan bisnis, medicine and law tu reserved buat org SG doang. makanya agak susah klo mau msk bisnis hehe. jdi ya aku ga milih" uni based on the opportunity of entrance aja, tpi jg on how suitable i am with the uni in terms of its envi, programs, dll.
ci shelly mau kuliah dimana jurusan apa nih?
aku ada apply hkust, smu, ntu dan nus. 1st choice aku di respective unis beda", but all of them revolve around the realm of business sih. mis di hkust aku milih 1st finance, 2nd acc. di ntu aku 1st acc, 2nd business, dll. ya gitu deh cerita hayati, dek hahaha

- Kpop freak : no day spent without Kpop, Kmovies and anything of sort.
- Definitely not the diligent type, but can be hard-working at times.
- Passionate about the things you do, and I admire that.
- Crewet nya bukan main....
- Is currently in a desperate need for popularity and the public's attention

Shelly, what do you love amd hate the most about me? wwkkDaniel Wiyarta Tenggara
I like the part of you being a voracious learner, and a smart, articulate debater. When i was your age, i could barely speak up in public, let alone debate with uni students and still win, which you just did.
There is nothing in particular that I'd like to complain about you, but from what I've heard and experienced myself, here is some advice : learn to appreciate others, be more thoughtful and socially sensitive, i guess. Give some thought into what i say. Still, it is pleasant to meet you daniel :)
fyi. nus might not be as generous as before.hahaha
I am well informed on that particular point. I am told that they welcome international olympic medalists and Singaporeans only. But you just can't foretell when luck is coming or leaving, can't you? haha i guess i am betting my college admission on my hard work and luck.

Hello Shelly! Any uni/ uni courses in mind currently?
Hello anon! I haven't put much thought into which uni I am going to enroll in (thanks for reminding me about how negligent i am towards my future), but recently I have harboured an interest in smu, nus, and hkust. I haven't abandoned the thought of going to the US, but i think it'd be wiser to apply for a US exchange programme later on, since it is cheaper and so on. My motives? I simply want to seek out-of-the-box experiences, to meet awesome people from whom i can learn a lot from, and to be involved in a community or things that give me a sense of purpose or that i am passionate about. Fyi, I am also considering in-state unis such as Universitas Indonesia.
As for majors, I am going back and forth between finance and macroeconomics. See, I haven't settled on anything yet. Things are in a blur, and the current state of my life is the epitomes of uncertainty and indecision. Again, thanks for the question, anon. I hope i could give you a definite answer some time soon :)
quick description... wkwkJoandy Leonata
lol okay, i'm going to make it quick.
Ambitious (I don't think you are greedy. You are simply thirsty for experience and curious about things, so i think you should keep it up). Helpful (I guess it's bcs you feel responsible for giving back to others what you have received from them, and as one of your constant help-receivers, thank you so much Jo!). Smart. Responsible. Realistic (you are one who faces the reality head on, and who can't fake things, which explains why sometimes you can be such a pain in the ass. *being realistic* haha). Hard-working.
and you are?
