ok i use a fender squire (6 strng obviosly) .. so i make prog/ambient prog music.. i hav written a riff or two.. my ques is is it mandatory to hav a 7/8 strng to be a prog metal songwriter??
You don't necessarily need a 7 or 8 string guitar to write progressive metal. It all depends on your ideas how progressive your music can be. If you look at artists like David Maxim Micic and Protest The Hero, they all use 6 strings.
