Do your parents know about you and Owen and like the age difference ?

They know and they don't really like it that much, but they've accepted the fact I'm happy :)

why do people self harm

It depends on their reasons;
Some people do it cos they think its "cool" and get attention off people. Those kind of people are sick&twisted. They have no need to do it!
But there's others that do it for real reasons, people do it because they can't stand the emotional/physical or mental pain anymore. Its a coping method

I take lactulose (a weak laxative) whenever I feel I've over eaten, is this bad? Will it affect my system if I take it when I don't really need it for the reasons I was meant to take it for?

If you take it when not needed it can give you "Diarrhoea"

Why do you want to change their opinion? If they don't like you, tough. You're perfect the way you are and shouldn't change for anyone. Be happy you have good friends and ignore all the others
