I mean to ask this in the most respectful way possible, but I just want to know why you don't think such thing as a God exists, I just wanna understand an atheists point of view of the idea of a God, rather than a religious point of view.
Okay so, I have a feeling this might get long and boring.
Logically, why would there be a God?
Science gives us enough reason to think that a God like figure isn't necessary. Of course, people can argue that God created the world that way, but oftentimes the simplest answer is the best one.
Christianity for instance, is full of circular reasoning;
Why do you believe in God? It says so in the Bible.
Why do you believe the Bible? It is the word of God.
How do you know it is the word of God? It says so in the Bible.
Etc. etc. etc.
Then there is all the other stuff, some people take the bible literally, others try to take it metaphorically to do good in the world. But why are there 41,000, not religions, SECTS of Christianity in the world. They all believe in one Holy Book. Why can't they come to any consensus about anything else.
On another note, it provokes religion provokes extremism. Google the number one cause of war, you get religion (I'm going to avoid the history lesson and try to prove it is religion for the moment, but let me just say Crusades anyone?).
Religion had it's benefits, creating a moral and ethical code for us to follow before we had governments to enforce such rules. Now it is outdated.
In my opinion Moses or whoever began the idea of "God" is a genius. He found a way to manipulate millions if not billions of people into behaving towards a more just society, (in my belief) by a lie, an imaginary figure of power.
We don't need religion anymore to govern our society and how we behave, It primarily acts as a negative influence on society. Take Lebanon for example, wars and civil strife are common due to religious differences. Our political system is based off of, and locked into religion.
I might have strayed a bit from why I don't believe in God... well basically, I see no evidence to suggest that God is real. I tend to believe stuff that I can sense. Plus if there was a God, why would there be so much suffering in the world? He *IS* all powerful right? He should fix some of the shit going on down here.
This is getting a little too long... So to sum up my thoughts, here is a song that a friend shared with me:

Hope this helped out!
For the record, I have nothing against religious people, just don't try to force your religion on other people, and I won't try to force you into being an atheist/Pastafarian.
