The cashier snatched the crisp bills from my hand and then replaced them with two tickets to see the new movie World War Z. The tickets read "World War Z 6:00pm Sat 6/22/13." The cashier said "enjoy the movie" and I politely responded "thank you." I was barely able to walk and with each heavy step I felt myself getting more and more nervous. This is the day I have been waiting all week for. I walked over to the concession stand where I purchased a medium sized popcorn drenched in buttery goodness and a large Pepsi. There was wet condensation all alongside the edge of the cup. I peeked over and saw a line starting to form to enter the theatre, and I knew I had better rush over to it if I wanted to find a good seat. As I stood in this line, I patiently waited for her arrival. As the clock ticked by, I was getting more and more nervous. I felt perspiration starting to form on my forehead much like the condensation on the cup. It seemed as though the three showers I took earlier that day had been a waste. I peered downward at my watch to see the time. I thought to myself "oh no, the movie is about to start and she isn't here yet!" But right before the clock struck six, I saw her emerge from the glass doors. The very sight of her took my breathe away. She was wearing blue shorts with little white flowers on them and a white shirt with a black flower covering the front. Her hair had the most adorable little twist in it that made me fall head over heels for her. She spotted me standing in line and slowly made her way across the vast ocean of people to me. With each step she took my heart became a jackhammer that seemed to rattle within my ribcage. I thought to myself "this is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. And she is on a date with me. ME. It was happening right in front of me and I still couldn't believe it. Could this really be happening? Am I really on a date with this amazing girl?" I didn't have enough time to answer my own questions before she appeared in front of me. I awkwardly tried to spit out the word "hello" but what came out instead probably didn't even sound like English. She let out a light giggle and I was sure she could tell how nervous I was. My legs were shaking so much they could cause earthquakes. She gave me a hug that was so warm and tight that my heart skipped a beat. I felt butterflies in my stomach. Fireworks went off in my head. Her hair smelt like an array of freshly picked strawberries. I knew this girl was special. I knew by the way she made me feel when I was with her. And as she smiled at me with that bright comforting smile and that crater sized dimple, and looked at me with those big brown puppy dog eyes, I was able to figure out why she was so special. And I knew in my heart I couldn't mess this up; I knew I only had one chance with her and I knew I had to take it now. It took every ounce of guts I had but I managed to string together "Will you be my girlfriend?" With a smile she said "Of course."
