Hey I want to ask your opinion. DO you think smoking whilst wearing Lolita is appropriate? Nothing against smokers but I worry about their lovely brando OoO
Hi there! =D
Well, I do not feel like it is my place to judge anyone on what they're doing while wearing Lolita. They can do whatever they want, even swim in a giant bucket of paint if they like! ^^ But I will say that, if I were a smoker, I would make sure no ashes would fall onto my dresses, haha. XD But I am sure smoking Lolitas care just as much for their dresses as non-smoking Lolitas, so I am sure their dresses will be fine. ;)
Do you have any weird fears or phobias?
Oh yes I do! I am terribly afraid of killer whales!
I bet you didn't see that one coming! XD But I am being very serious here. When I was in high school I was reading this fantastic book series and in part two, someone tells the protagonist about 'the hunters'; black and white animals living in the sea that leave you be when you leave them be, but will hunt you down for the rest of your life if you harm one of them. These creatures are very obviously killer whales and the way the writer describes them is just so damn scary! And later documentaries I watched about killer whales didn't exactly lift my fear of them either. ^^' To be honest, whales in general freak me out...
I am also quite afraid of really deep oceans. That combined with whales would kill me. XD Do you know that scene in Finding Nemo where Dori is speaking whale and it swims up to them from behind? THAT SCENE SCARES ME EVERY TIME. Deep water and a gigantic whale. No thank you.
(Yes I know Finding Nemo is a kid's movie. Shut up.)
Finally, I am not so much into aliens. Movies like Independance Day and E.T. (yes really) are completely not my cup of tea. Ugh.
I also really dislike the feeling of cotton balls. You know, the creaky-ish kind. I am shivering thinking about it.
So in conclusion: yes I am damn weird. XD
Who are your favourite lolitas (in Japan and worldwidely) ? Do you have any lolita rolemodel ?
Oh I have multiple Lolitas that inspire me! Famous models like Misako Aoki, Midori Fukasawa and Rinrin Doll, but also 'normal' Lolitas like my friend Emilie from Switzerland, Mila from France, May from Germany, Lunie from Belgium and Stephanie from Canada. ^^
Are there any dream items — beside dresses — that you would like to have ? (bags, shoes, accessories, ...)
There is some jewelry I'd like to have, like the necklace and/or bracelet from the Melty Chocolate series or any of the jewelry from the Jewelry Jelly series. ^^
Can we hear you sing? got some clip somewhere? :D <3 <3
I am afraid not. ^^' I never upload any classical singing, since the classical audience is even more judging than 'regular' people.
I have been thinking about recording some pop songs for a change though, but with Lolita-themed lyrics. I am still not sure if I should do it, but it's still floating in my head...
I know you always wear sweet lolita, but what dress would you like to wear if you would wear gothic lolita?Kingpoof
To be honest, I have thought about wearing Gothic for once. I really love Gothic Lolita and I definitely want to try it sometime. I am not really an expert on the many different Gothic dresses and to be honest: I'd love to make a Gothic coord with an all-black Angelic Pretty or Baby, the Stars Shine Bright dress! Like BtSSB's Pocket Embroidery jumperskirt for example! *_*
what would be the most perfect thing in the world to be happening to you, as in a surprise?
Oh dear, what a deep question! 0_0 My wishes change all the time, haha! Well, waking up one morning and suddenly be thin and pretty would be amazing! Or getting a call from an agent saying they want me for their next opera production. Or suddenly getting a ton of followers, resulting into sponsorships giving me the opportunity to travel around the world and modelling for Lolita brands. There are many, many things... XD
What item from your wishlist do you desire the most?Kingpoof
Oh gosh, definitely Angelic Pretty's Memorial Cake halterneck jumperskirt. *___* It has been on my wishlist for so long already!
What inspires you the most at the moment for your current outfits?Kingpoof
Lately I am getting really inspired by period movies and series. I haven't really had the opportunity to make an outfit like I have in my head yet, but that time will surely come. Also, pictures of other Sweet Lolitas always inspire me. ^^
What is the most precious dress you own, and why?Kingpoof
Whoa, that is a very hard question. I chose the dresses I own with care, so they all have great value to me. But if I HAVE to choose, I choose my Milky Berry jumperskirt from Angelic Pretty. Ever since it came out I loved it and when I finally bought it second hand, I danced with joy! The dress is incredibly pretty and vibrant and stands out a lot. And above all: I love the way it looks on me. <3 I have heard several times that Milky Berry really is 'my' dress, apparently people think it suits me as well. ^^ So yes, Milky Berry it is.
Are there Raffels at the Btssb Paris TP like there are at the Angelic Pretty Ones??
Yes there are! ^^ At the beginning of the Tea Party you receive a number, which is both your raffle and outfit contest number. The raffle is usually in the middle of the Tea Party, the outfit contest (both BtSSB and AatP) is at the end.
Hi! I love your pictures so much in your blog post: Tokyo, Day 3 – Harajuku and Sushi in Shinjuku! I was wondering, when you go to the stores, do you have to ask permission to get pictures within the department stores? (like the Swimmer and AP pics?) I'm going in a few months, and I just wanted to
Hello! First of all: thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoy my pictures! ^^ To answer your question: well... *sigh* I am afraid this is a bit of my dark side. No, you are not allowed to take pictures of the shops, especially of Angelic Pretty. I took pictures after all, which is bad, I know. But I just love those places so much and I want other people to get enthusiastic about them too, so... yeah. Asking for permission,,, will it help? I have no idea. It might, but to be honest: I think they're pretty strict about it. ^^'
How did you find friends in lolita?
To be honest, my two closest Lolita friends found ME, through my blog! ^^ My other friends I met by meeting them at Lolita meet ups or via other people. I try to talk to as many people as possible during meet ups, so I get to know them or to at least be able to match a name with a person's face, since we usually meet on Facebook. Sometimes you feel a connection, other times you don't. ^^
I also have some international friends. Most of them are Europeans who I met at Tea Parties in Paris, others found me through my blog. ^^
Hey, I like your blog a lot <3 I hope you don't stop writing on it. I'm planning to start my own lolita blog soon, do you have any tips?
Hello~! I am so glad you do! ^^ Thank you! I won't stop for a while, don't worry! =D
Hmmm... tips... Well, I am not really an expert, but I will try. ^ ^I will just tell you some things I personally try to live up to.
1. Write your blog for yourself. Don't write it because you want to become popular. Your blog needs to be like your online diary, where you tell your stories or share your outfits. If people happen to like it, that's amazing of course! But it's YOU who has to keep updating every time, so it has to make you happy.
2. Don't change your style just because someone dislikes it. If you like to write stories with a lot of details, like me, and someone doesn't like it, it's their problem. If this is your way of doing things, keep it that way. But if someone gives you advice or positive critique, you can always decide do something with it!
3. Pictures, lots of pictures. Lolita is a very visually apealing style. Multiple pictures of your outfit is not a shame, it's a must! That's what Lolita is all about, to look pretty! And others will love to see your dress, the details, your accessories, your hair style, everything! I highly prefer blogs with lots of pictures than only text ones. I write a lot, but I also post a lot of pictures.
4. Advertise. Point 1 was about writing for yourself and I will stick to that, but it doesn't mean your blog needs to remain a secret! When you post a picture on Facebook, Tumblr, Daily Lolita or Tumblr, you can always put a link to the post the outfit is featured in. If people like what they see, they might look at some of your other posts and even subscribe!
5. Clean layout. When you have a nice layout with a clear overview, people can find what they need more easily and stick around. Also, a little seperate page or corner with a small biography can be nice.
Pfew, that's all I can think up now. I hope this helps. I would love to see your blog once you've started it, so send me a link (if you want of course) once it's done! ^^
What do you think is the best way to get to japan?
By airplane! :D
Sorry that was stupid. XD But your question is also a bit vague to be honest. ^^' The best way to get to Japan is to save up a lot of money and do a lot of research. :) With research you will be able to find out about places you might want to visit.
From where did you get yor closet ?
I got my closet from IKEA. ^^ It's from the Birkeland series.
Your blog is awesome, I really enjoy reading it! Though I can't find a mail contact in it, what's your email address? (I don't have facebook nor tumblr, so.. yay, haha)
Thank you so much! Sorry for my late reply. ^^' I am really glad you enjoy it!
Uhm... I prefer not to have my personal email adress out in the open. If you really want to contact me for some reason, write me an email at email@example.com. I rarely use this email, but I'll keep an eye out. ;)
Will you be at the IW Tea Party and do you know when the Btssb winter Tea Party will be?
I'm afraid not. I have no Innocent World items whatsoever. Plus I have no money, I have school and I have work. ^^'
It might be in February I think..? I am not sure, keep an eye on the blog. ;)
Thanks for the awnser Rosalynn it really helped me ^^ I still have two questions Do I have to watch the french blogs from Btssb or others? And Do you know why there won`t be another Angelic Pretty Tea Party? Becauuse I really wanted to go to the next ^^ ~Karin
I am glad it did! =D
Yes, you do have to watch the French blog. But they always post in English and French. ^^
About the Angelic Pretty Tea Party: it just got too expensive. The shop needs to pay for the flight and stay of the AP Staff, the location of the Tea Party, the food, the prizes. Although the guests do pay for their ticket, it's probably not nearly enough. It's quite sad. :(
I am a new Lolita and you often write about your travels to Tea Partys and I would like to ask if you could tell me how you know when there will be a Tea Party in Europe and where can you buy the tickets? I hope you can awnser my question. Keep on writing your blog :) ~^-^Karin
Hello! Nice to meet you. ^^
Yes I can tell you! It might get a little long. XD
So in Europe there are different Tea Parties, I will start with ‘the big ones’.
The big Tea Parties are the Parisian Tea Parties for Baby, the Stars Shine Bright and Angelic Pretty. BtSSB organizes two Tea Parties: one Winter (in February) and one Summer (in July). Usually, if you keep checking their blog, a couple of weeks before the Tea Party they will announce the date of the Party, the price of the ticket and the date of the day you can send them a mail to join the lottery for a ticket. If you are chosen, you will get an email with the details and you send them money. Then you can pick up your ticket until about one day before the Party at the store itself. If you are not chosen, you can always send them another mail and ask them to keep you in mind in case someone decides not to buy their ticket after all. Keep in mind: they do not announce months in advance. Three to four weeks is very normal. This is quite inconvenient for Lolitas outside of France (or even Paris), but there’s nothing to do about it.
The Angelic Pretty Tea Party used to have the same system, only to get selected for the lottery you needed to buy from the store for at least 100 euros. Now the sad part is that there won’t be another Angelic Pretty Tea Party (this is about 95%) sure. :(
You also have Frock On! in the United Kingdom, organized by The Tea Party Club, which is ‘the UK's biggest and longest running lolita fashion society’. I believe they have Tea Parties ever year (or at least a big event). This year’s Frock On! sounds amazing and it is only in a few weeks!
This year there is also a special Innocent World Tea Party in Vienna. This is not an annual event. In the Netherlands we had the big Kawaii Event, which might return next year..?
Whoa, I think this is about it? I hope this is of any help to you. ^^ Don’t hesitate to ask me more. :)
hi, what's your height and weight and what UK size are you wearing?
Uhm... I find this quite an uncomfortable question... ^^'
Hello, I'm Lady Lavender over at ladylavendersexpressions.blogspot.com and I would like to ask permission to link to your blog on my own. You have such a quirky style and fun personality. I enjoy reading your blog a lot. Get back to me soon, ok! I would love to link you, but only if you don't mind.
Hello! I would be honoured if you did! Thank you so much~! I am seriously blushing here! <3
