Make sure you have time at least once a week to be together. Trust is the biggest thing i think, you should be able to talk about almost anything (or everything if you're Megan =)) Megan and I have found that even hanging out for an hour or even just going for a walk together can be just as good as hanging out for 5. There's lots of other things but trust, communication and a complete mutual respect for each other really help
