Just curious, but do any of the fault characters have birthdays? Or does the fault universe have a totally different calendar system compared to our universe's?
You forget that it's only recently that we in our world have (somewhat) agreed on a universal concept of time (mostly because trains needed to coordinate schedules in the Western world). Even in our world today in 2016 there are cultures that have no concrete concept of time and they live day to day according to how the sun is positioned in the sky. As such the Alliance has it's own measurement of time where as other parts of the world count time differently.
More accurately though, their planet takes 23.976 hours (in our worlds time) to complete 1 cycle and takes 463 days to rotate once around their sun.
Characters of course have birthdays by the virtue of them existing but every country celebrates (or doesn't celebrate) aging differently.
More on this later when it's relevant to the story.
