“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need” (Matthew 6:33, NLT).
How do we seek His kingdom 1st?
I think this starts with a mindset and is based on action. First, we have to prioritize the Kingdom of God and the interests thereof in our decision-making. It's easy to put our interests or earthly concerns first and foremost in our minds, but when we start to intentionally focus on what has eternal value, we will often make different decisions or, at the very least, make those decisions differently. Second, we have to act in accordance with what will engage the Kingdom of God. To seek and know what suits the Kingdom of God and to live in accordance with that in an effort to bring the Kingdom more in contact with the world. Matthew 6:9-13: "Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one."
I'm sort of in an era of feeling like men should be able to enjoy things that aren't stereotypically "manly." I've given men in my life skincare, fuzzy socks, and bubble bath. Not arbitrarily, mind you. I gave my dad fuzzy socks because his feet were always cold when he had to work (as a paramedic) at a sports event during the winter and a few years later I gave him a face moisturizer because his skin was dry. I gave a brother-in-law cotton scented bubble bath because I knew he liked bubble baths and the scent of fresh laundry. I've seen things that make me think some men would really like to be gifted flowers, but I have not gifted a man flowers because I don't know any that I think would really enjoy receiving them at this point. So, my suggestion would be to think outside the box of traditional Father's Day gifts. My dad has also been gifted toys because he really is a child at heart and likes toy drones and whatnot. My point is merely that I think it's helpful to stop thinking, "What do men or fathers or people this age like?" and to start just thinking about the individual as they are.
Thoughts on female pastors
What makes someone a pastor
1. Thoughts on female pastors: I lean toward it being fine for women to be pastors. However, I think that in my country (USA), there has been a tendency for female pastors to be more liberal leaning than I am comfortable with, so that gives me pause (though I don't think that is a global trend). Granted, male pastors tend to be more patriarchal than I'm comfortable with, so I suppose I am suspicious of everyone for different reasons, lol. 2. A pastor is someone who fulfills a certain leadership role in a church body. A lead pastor is considered the one who shepherds the church. There are also some other roles that some churches bestow the title pastor onto, such as a "worship pastor" vs. "worship leader" - sometimes used interchangeably.
I really want real life friends but I feel no one likes me. No one matches my vibe. 😟 need like minded friendsss
That is a hard season to be in. It can be very hard to even find people to try to be friends with these days. If you follow God's directions and keep seeking community, there is definitely hope to make connections.
Have you ever heard of pastor Brooke Keith?
I haven't.
What's for dinner?
A cheesy chicken potato bake (I don't know the official name).
That link leads to YouTube saying the video is unavailable. Maybe you could describe what kind of video you are referring to or you could tell me the name and I could look it up.
What is the most interesting thing you have learned recently?
I learned that masking is something people with any type of neurodivergence can do and suffer from doing. I had previously only heard of masking in regard to autism. https://youtu.be/6GcHUJiocXA?si=9qXv6hLgk0tSIcUw
Why would God keep showing me bees?
I believe I've been asked this before, so I'm surprised that God has been showing you bees for so long without any clarification. But I can't interpret God's reason for you. I could make up guesses, but that doesn't seem like it would be beneficial.
About 3-4 times (I typically shower every other day).
Current mood
Equal parts hopeful and dissatisfied.
What are you doing today?
Just normal stuff. I am starting to watch a Kdrama by myself, which I haven't done since winter break.
Opinion on the rosary ?
Honestly, I am leary of it. I know Catholics would argue that they do not worship Mary, but the Hail Marys and whatnot that are part of praying the rosary would be something I would not be willing to do. For that reason and other concerns about fundamental Catholic beliefs, I would avoid the rosary as a whole.
Niv vs nlt?
There are too many factors that go into evaluating what translations work best for different people for me to be able to answer this question. And for me, I'm happy sticking with TLV and NASB, at least now.
