Well umm, lets assume that we are in a computer simulated universe!! What do you think is going to happen next? The next step? So this simulation never ends? What are physicists gonna do about it? Wanted posted a comment on that thread of yours but, eh didn't get time.
I don't think physicists CAN do anything about it, necessarily. If we are in a simulation, I would assume that it would come to an end at some point, but since we can reasonably assume that we've been here for billions of years we can also assume that "our time" moves a lot faster than the simulation creator's time, so we shouldn't have much to worry about.
